I've noticed that there is a very heavy emphasis here on using WILDs to attain lucidity. Is this what most people find easiest? Or is it the infamous SP that people want to experience (which you normally won't experience with other methods)? Or, do WILDs yeald the best results?
Personally, I've had the best success with MILDs. I've never actually achieved lucidity, but I came closest with the MILD technique.
Ive had a few succesfull WILDS. they can be a very good for attaining lucid dreams and exploring sleep paralysis. I however attain most of my lucid dreams natually and i dont find the need to wild. Some people may not be able to lucid dream easily so WILDing is a good option.
I like WILDs the best because they're really interesting and I seem to be more lucid when I succeed... but I also use RCs a lot. For me WILDs are pretty much hit and miss because I don't use the methods with sleep paralysis (I just wait for the "falling feeling", which means that sometimes my thoughts wander too much and I lose consciousness).Quote:

I think a lot of people aren't willing to put in the effort of raising awareness, doing reality checks, keeping a steady dream journal, and then feel like they can't lucid dream, because they having little results and- BUT WAIT! Why worry and put in effort when you can just WILD your way into it?!
I honestly think that that is why some people focus on it so much.
For others, maybe they can just do it easily, so they figure there is no reason to waste time on the other stuff. That's how I feel about WILDs. I had four separate DILDs last night. Why waste my time WBTBing, losing sleep, potentially having to experience SP, etc.?
On the other hand, being able to lucid dream whenever you choose to certainly sounds amazing and promising. I have not yet become that adept with WILDing so to me, that is not how I look at the technique. So basically, if you are a very skilled LDer and can get DILDs or WILDs, why not just WILD? But for those learning, when it is supposed to be that much more difficult, I have no idea wha the fascination is. I think it sounds harder, and the more skilled LDers can do it, so they want to too.
I think the reason that WILD seems to be the most discussed around here is because of the difficulty of it. DILD doesn't take more than a few paragraphs explaining reality checks and awareness. WILD has many variations, such a sharp learning curve, and fear surrounding the HI. People tend to discuss the best ways and provide advice on it more because there simply isn't much to talk about for other techniques.
