Hypnagogic Umbrella

Today when taking a nap I stumbled upon something that might be useful to someone...

Once HI has started a little, imagine you are opening and closing an umbrella. For me, a certain opening of the umbrella would bring clearer imagery, the umbrella would pull up on my hand, and I would float a bit in my HI.

My guess is since you are familiar with the feel of an umbrella pulling up on your hand due to wind, maybe someone can use this to somehow transition into an LD where there are already flying/floating.

I wouldn't know how to use this for LD'ing though. Although I get pretty vivid hypnagogic imagery, I have yet to induce a lucid dream after years.

and it could just work... the tactile sense of feeling the pull of an umberella would be more familiar than some other techniques I've read. Nice

I like the idea of the umbrella pulling upwards too. Something about that feeling that's quite unique, yet we all know it. Will have to try and remember that tonight.

Speaking of things we all know, isn't it odd, that if you think about it, we all know how a carpet tastes. Silly thought, but interesting how memory works, that memory being obviously from early childhood, and quite irrelevant, you'd think we'd forget it.

How's this for capturing that hypnagogic/lucid feel? One of my goals is to get myself into this scene. Perhaps I'll try your suggestion eggbert!

I would never be able to have THAT clear of hypnagogic imagery. Its usually very light colors in contrast with the black of my eye lids.

Really? Mine can be exactly like the picture, as can my LDs be!

I dont know, thats just me.

Usually Im not very successful with WILDs though, Ill get to the HI and vibrations, then I just fall asleep because I dont know what goes next.

After i enter SP, the vibrations get really intense, then die out. But if i open my eyes or move, Ill just wake up in real life. So I dont know what to do :/

Plus my HI is very weak. I get exploding head syndrome alot too

I see you've only had 6 LDs since 2005. Maybe try reading some of the tutorials and try some other methods. Just a suggestion.

lol spaceexplorer, I don't actually know what carpet tastes like, but I think I know what you mean. Personally, I distinctly remember the taste of party streamers.

Is the feeling we have at OBE.
The pull/ripping of our energy body away from ours upwards and out.
This feeling we all admit to having is this happening.
Why would our LD have a natural tendancy to do this - we just arrive at our dream.

I havent updated my signature in quite a while. it should read about 20-30
