WILD almost worked!

This isn't my first attempt at a WILD, but I think it was my closest one. So here's what happened:

I drank some water before bed so I would wake up in the middle of the night. Then, I went to bed, and woke up when it was still dark to go to the bathroom. I couldn't tell whether it was close to morning or not, and I thought that going into the kitchen to check the time would make me too awake. I decided to go back to bed and WILD anyway. I was still for a while, and concentrated on my breathing. I got as far as 400-500 while counting my breaths. But after hitting 500, I decided to get up and do a few RCs, which told me that I wasn't in a dream. So I went back to bed and started over again, going through the same process as before. Soon, I started seeing very vivid scenes, which I figured meant that I was close to entering a dream. In my room, I have a clock that hangs by my bed, and it ticks quite loudly. It was easy for me to ignore, but every time I went into those vivid scenes, I would get distracted by the clock's tick, and pull myself out of them. I think that's the reason I failed at it :/

Question 1: Was my clock the reason why I failed my WILD?
Question 2: Were those vivid scenes actually the beginnings of me entering a dream?
Question 3: How are you supposed to feel when you enter a dream from a WILD?

I would say turn the clock off if it's really an issue. The fact that its bothering you is most likely in your head.. Example is you think.. "Damn that clock is going to distract me!" so it does... Just try to ignore it, or as I mentioned, turn it off, take out batters, ect.
As for your other questions I cannot answer, but Q2 seems like it would be a yes..

Question 1: Was my clock the reason why I failed my WILD? It's hard to say but I found the tick of a clock distracting when I was trying to WILD so I took mine out of the room a couple of months ago and I certainly don't miss it!

Question 2: Were those vivid scenes actually the beginnings of me entering a dream? Yes.

Question 3: How are you supposed to feel when you enter a dream from a WILD? Different things can happen. For it to be a true WILD you will see a hypnagogic image and then all of a sudden the image will become a complete scene and that scene will form around you and you will be in a full dream. To get an idea of what it feels like cover one eye with your hand and look around the room you are in, then remove your hand and everything will spring into 3-D. It's kind of like that only a much more pronounced effect. It's awesome. Failing this occuring you may just drift off to sleep and then suddenly find yourself in a lucid OR nonlucid dream from which you can become lucid.
