I picture myself going through a recent dream scenario and thinking "How did I get here..what's this..that can't be right.. I must be dreaming! (I'm think there's a name for this, I think I read it somewhere...) .
Like this my brain is still in the "dream mode" but I'm also thinking logically.
Just repeat the thing in your head, don't attempt to WILD. Lucidity then for me happenens during the rest of the night, (DILDs).
