come on! only 15 more minutes!
no.. bad idea. Even for experianced WILDers, its EXTREMELY hard to have one at night. Wake up early.. like after 5 hours of sleep, walk around for a half hour or drink a soda, lay down, and just relax. Try to picture some stuff and let your body fall asleep. Thats the quickest explaination i can give.
hey you the guy who haven't had a lucid dream in a 18 mounths? personally i don't do wild technqiue i just lucid dream
Heh, it doesn't come natural to all people. Sometimes as in my case, you go from naturally LDing every night, to never LDing. In these cases, you must take a techinque and apply it.
Okay, go to sleep, wake up after 4-6 hours of sleep. I prefer around 4, but most people like a little more. Then, wake up and stay up for a half hour to an hour. If you feel like you'll fall asleep again too soon, have some caffeine. Coffee's probably too much, but I've never had it so I couldn't say for sure. I use a can of Coke, but other people like other things. Then, lay back down and close your eyes, relaxing. You should start to see odd images. Nothing major, just weird colors and such. This means you're slipping back into the sleep stages. Be sure to stay conscious during this! I always fall asleep during H.I. After these are past, you'll feel some vibrations and you'll be unable to move. DON'T PANIC! It's just sleep paralysis. After this things get really freaky: You'll start to hear things. No matter how real it sounds, or how scary they are, DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THEM! It'll just wake you up. After this the dream cycle begins, and you should start the dream in a state of lucidity. Wala!
The main theory behind WILD is that you mantain consciousness as you slip into a dream. The best idea is to wake up after you've been sleeping for quite a while (Usually around 6 hours). This should make it easier for you to slip straight into a dream. You might want to stay up for a while, but it isn't necessary. I do recommend that you aren't too tired though.
So, you've woken up, you're not too tired, you're lying in bed. Now what? There are several methods of maintaining awareness, and mental consciousness. Basically, you want to keep your mind active and awake, whilst your body becomes inactive. Try to relax. Lie on your back or side (I find back is easier for relaxing, but you might have trouble sleeping like that). Next, breathe deeply and tyr to relax, let go of any concerns or worries, and just breathe deeply.
Now, you could count yourself into sleep, "1...I'm dreaming, 2...I'm dreaming...". Alternatively, you could just wait for the hypnagogic imagery to start, and just let it continue until you find yourself in a dream. You could also focus on your body, and feel the strange vibrations, and eventually paralyzation that comes with the beginning of REM sleep.
However you do it, you should eventually end up with an entire scene formed in your vision. Once you notice this, allow yourself to drift intot eh dream somehow, don't panic, don't rush it, just somehow find your way into the scene.
 Anyway, I've been reading about it. I hope some of that helps. You're not likely to get it first time, and I've never done it before, so don't expect my advice to be completely accurate. Just keep trying, try and find some more information, and eventually you should get it.
You yourself need to decide how much you need to sleep before waking up for awile then going back to sleep. Someone like me can get 8 hours and WILD.. but at 5 hours I'll just fall asleep. I also like 12 hour blocks of sleep like once a week too.. yet I hardly ever get it. Big blocks of sleep I have noticed are BAD for LDing.. i'm going to start a topic on that soon. If I break sleep up some more I LD all over.
