So I attempted another MILD...

I attempted another MILD. Um. Hmm. Day and night I told myself that I would "Remember my dreams completely and clearly and know when I am dreaming"(twas my mantra). Usually I remember my dreams but not in clarity, in fact for the past week i've remembered three dreams per night, nearly every night. Last night however...I remembered zero dreams. Which came as a surprise because I can think of nothing that could have crippled my ability...I also had trouble getting to sleep, another surprise, I usually get to sleep in a jiffy! :P

Do yourself a favour a wake up around 5 hours after you first go to bed. Get up for awhile and tell yourself you'll have a Lucid Dream. It's important to ont only tell yourself but to vividly imagine yourself realising you're in a dream. Do this until you nod off.

Try it out and see what happens! :)

Do it eveny night for a week and I bet you'll have one.

try shortening your montra and making it more to the point. "I'll know when I'm dreaming and remember it." Make sure you focus on these words. Don't just say them. Explain to yourself what they mean. Visualize the meaning of each word as you say it. From what I understand, you should say it as if you are talking to someone else, telling them what WILL happen, having confidence that you will get results. After all, you are basically talking to your subconscious.

To really take advantage of MILD, you have to wake up briefly in the middle of the night, after a dream. You then visualize yourself back in that dream, only this time becoming lucid by recognizing a dream sign and performing your favorite reality check. The trick is to do this as you are drifting back to sleep. The idea is to really recreate the dream feeling, and what it would be like to be lucid.

Autosuggestion during the day is an important part of it, too. Just be sure you include the brief awakening and visualization.

Yup, keep in mind that for MILD you really want to develop your prospective memory.
