almost WBTB?
so last night i had a dream that i was walking in this parking lot of a gas station, the next thing i know i wake up. so i figured i try the WBTB method. i layed there still and remembered the parking lot and kept saying to myself "im dreaming" over and over. then my thoughts got really vivid and the next thing i know im in the parking lot again but since i was imagining myself walking in the parking lot my legs in real life were trying to walk and it woke me up and i lost the dream.
was i close? maybe i need to just sit still as the dream comes back?

For this to be considered a WBTB you would of had to of physically gotten up out of bed for atleast 5 mins. It sounds like what you did was a DIELD http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ighlight=deild
Which is a form of WILD (wake initiated lucid dream), good job you almost had it. Keep trying, read some tutorials and good luck :D

I'd get up for a good amount of time. I feared that waking up and walking around would wake me up too much, so I tried to WILD as soon as I woke up, this always resulted in me passing out a minute or two later.
Then I tried sitting around for 5 minutes, this still wasn't enough.
The past two days however, I've been getting up for 40-50 minutes, sitting on the computer and going back to WILD, and it resulted in Lucid's both times.
I suggest you try a WBTB and mess around with how long you stay awake until you get it down.

I think it's obvious you were close :content:
Upon entering the dream I find it helpful to wait until I have no awareness at all of waking life. While you're waiting to fully make the transition, something you can do is observe and take in the dream environment, making everything seem as real as you can.

As soon as you loose the feeling of laying in bed. your in!

Yup. Pretty close. In the 2nd part, were you lucid? If so, then you did WBTB.
-
yeah i was lucid, its just that the dream ended so quickly

It doesn't matter how long it was. Was it a WILD or a WBTB, I wonder?
