      Question .Dream Journaling.

      Hey everyone.

I recently started consistently writing in my dream journal. I've had lucid dreams before without writing one, but I figured i'd just do things properly to get better. I've remembered my dreams for about a week every night now, but the past few days I havent been able to remember anything. The only thing i've written down is the emotion I feel when I first wake up. I've also tried to keep my eyes closed for a few minutes when I just wake, incase I can remember, but no dice.

My question is, Will a few days of not remembering set me back? What do you guys write, if anything, on the days you cant remember anything?

      Thanks in advance.

a few days of not remembering in my opinion will not set you back. everyday is a new day, and everyday you go to sleep is a new sleep. just because you don't remember dreams for a few nights doesn't mean you've lost it. You may fall asleep tonight and remember 6 vivid/realistic dreams, who knows...

If I personally don't remember any dreams for a night, i won't write anything down. I'll continue my journal the next time I remember a dream..

      hope this helps

From what I know, so long as you are still completely focused and intend to remember your dreams, you'll be okay. The only way you can lose ground with your recall training is by doing nothing - not getting nothing.

As a crutch for a beginner, waking up at preset times during REM sleep, approximately in between dreams, will make recall extremely easy. Set an alarm (and advance appropriately at each wake-up time) for 4.5, 6, and 7.5 hours after you go to sleep. (These numbers are generalized, but seem to have worked pretty well for me.)
