Well, I do reality checks randomly throughout the day, so, I do them probably more than once per hour when I'm not at home, and probably about once per hour when I'm at home...I have no life right now, so it's easy to do RC's often, because I don't have much else to do except go to class and read my textbooks...yippee...ugh.
Kordan, I am the same way -- doing more when I'm not at home. That's when I'm more likely to run into things that might be dream signs or that seem odd or dreamlike. Like, I'm on vacation this week, but just hanging out at home so I've been having a hard time making myself do the RCs.
Rarely.
Yeah, everything is more normal at home (or perhaps "less wierd" would be more appropriate...or perhaps "more predictably wierd"...yeah, we'll go with the last one). I also have more distractions at home that keep me from doing RC's very often. At university, I can be sitting in a boring lecture and do an RC...This does not sound like it makes sense...perhaps I'm just more comfortable at home.
I do reality checks all the time, in class, at my friends house, and at home. I honestly probably look like an idiot in the middle of my class when im pinching my nose but I don't care how people judge me.
I've only been at this for a few days, and I'm presently between Summer and Fall terms at school. As such, I'm on my butt most of the day and usually do it when something triggers my memory, such as seeing the word "dream." Looking at the clock also reminds me to RC.
OMG! A three way tie so far!
Definitely. RCing should be a habit that one is 100% comfortable with. Being overly aware of a "societal penalty" is also a great way to stop oneself from taking control of one's dreams - it's going to be hard to shake that feeling of "I shouldn't try to fly, I'd look foolish."
Not anymore.
Didn't say you were.
Because I am trying to maintain constant awareness, I reality check after every period of 'Zoning out' (where I loss awareness). This usually results in RCs every 10 minutes or so.
That sounds like a really good idea, Minus. I am going to try that and then also make a point of remembering what I was doing before I zoned out. If I'm dreaming, I probably won't have a good answer! :)
I wanna hear some more responses!
Every 15 minutes for me. I have a watch that beeps every 15 minutes. So I just do a RC when hear the beep.
I just started again with RC's because my dream recall is maximum lately. Avarage of 4 dreams a night.
So time to wake up in my dreams.
Today is my first day and I have done about 15 an hour. It's sounds silly but  I really want to wake up.
So maximum dreamrecalls and maximum RC will result in a lot of LD's I hope
I try to reality check every time I see something strange. I don't try to make it a thing I do every certain amount of time, but just spontaneously throughout the day. Probably a dozen times a day.
I only reality check a few times per day. Right before bed, and during my WBTB, I try to maintain heightened awareness for as long as possible.
