Today i tried a wild this afternoon, it took quite a while, the obvious signs were there. My dreamsign is my childhood neighborhood which is where i was in my dream but, i just couldn't recognize it. How could i have missed my dreamsign and not become lucid? Please tell me how can i recognize my dreamsign more closely? Because even when i see my dreamsign i don't always become lucid, this happens quite frequently.
Hey man, don't get discouraged. Everyone misses signs sometimes. Just keep on practicing and you will increase the frequency of success. In the mean time, here is a fun thread about missing obvious signs.

Ok, try this. Pick certain landmarks or activities that you do everyday. Drive, get on bus, school, go to the bathroom, go to kitchen whatever. Everytime you do one of these things that you have picked you look at your hands & say to yourself that when you are dreaming you realize it but make it a 1st person statement. the other thing is when you look at your hands what you are checking for are abnormalities. Ask your self are these my hands? Do I really have this many fingers? What color are my hands? is that my real skin color? etc. What you are doing is state testing.Quote:

last night i had a dream that a whale was right near the stone's on the beach
then it was on the stone's and was going under them like it was water i remeber i was like o wow a whale ive never seen 1 this close before ...or even anywere around here lol
really strange i didnt become lucid but id just keep at it man
i only started to become lucid when i was younger due to nightmare's ( and is still the most likely for me to become lucid even now)
