Was I doing Something Wrong?

Just a briefing:
I listened to a subliminal lucid message file (using headphones) right before I went to bed (I was sitting up at the time). I tried going to sleep, but I couldn't, so I tried listening to the subliminal file while trying to fall asleep.

What I actually have a question about:
So, after a while of laying still (about 10 minutes), and ignoring itches and so on, my body started to tingle. As that started to happen, my vision (under my eyelids) started to go black (very black). For a while, nothing happened and I just saw black (and my body was still tingling). Then, my body started to get numb (first my feet, after a few minutes it was my left hand, then my right).

By then, I could sort of see images (not as in dreaming though), but there was still darkness. After about 5 more minutes, my vision became white.

After that, I can't remember if I fell asleep (non-lucid), or if I just gave up, and turned over on my side and fell asleep.

However, I didn't get much sleep last night (only about 7 hours), and I couldn't recall any of the dreams I had.

Was I doing something wrong? Or was I just to tired, or something? I don't want to try the full 'WILD' or WBTB, because I can't afford to loose sleep.

They say not to go to sleep too tired.
So, that may be the reason you didn't recall as many dreams. You were clouded with your own sleepiness, and your mind was too lazy to store anything.
As for the vision going totally black, and seeing random images, you may have started a partial HI. I don't know about the whiteness, though.
And your body tingling, and getting numb, also maybe a partial SP.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I've only tried to WILD a few times, and had that exact same thing happen to me.
I don't really know for sure, though.
