Hemi-sync
I downloaded the hemi sync series and i tried the first step and so far i think its horrible. It does not give you enough time to enter sleep mode, and also after i was done i felt like i went to sleep and i could not sleep that night? Anyone ever tried hemi sync?

I've tried it...didn't do crap for me. I was interested in brainwave entertainment for a while, but I kinda lost interest now. I figure it would be best to learn to lucid dream on my own rather than rely on a cd/mp3. But it would be interesting to see if there is anybody out there who has had success with this stuff.

Yeah I've played around with hemi-sync, the "Wave" series. It was years ago but I don't remember any worthwhile experiences, though I didn't follow it all through. I recently tried William Buhlman's hypnosis stuff for OBEs and now my unconscious won't let me sleep. :S

I have been using Hemisync on and off for about a year and a half. Not directly to go into a Lucid dream, but it is great practice for going into a deep SP in a very short time. By using the files as lessons - it gives you tools for remembering the state of your mind when you are in a trance/SP/focus 10(12) or whatever we should call it. This makes it easier to achieve this state the next time you try .
After having been practising this a sufficient number of times, you can stop using the soundfiles and go into a SP within 5-10 minutes. You do this by following the same method as on the tape, but shortening the amount of time needed to do each part of the "countdown" to focus 10.
I still regularly use the soundfiles, but see it as a way of meditation - if I wake up during the night I can go into SP quite fast and use it that way (without actually playing the files)- lately I have been lucky to have either WILDs or DILDs after meditation during the night (using the countdown to Focus 10 to achieve SP) When I'm in SP I usually try to fall asleep with a heightened awareness. I do this by feeling my throat (chakra) and visualise a color (I use red or white) in front of me. I then gradually loosen my awareness until it is sufficient low to fall asleep. (if it is too high I can't sleep - like you guys mentioned) So I bring in as much awareness as possible to the dream, while still being able to sleep. I have experienced a number of times that I have a much higher degree of awareness in my dreams, high enough to actually discover that I'm dreaming - without doing any RC's.
I think that Hemisync-files have learned me quite a lot about recognizing different states of the mind - but it won't give you instant LD's.
