Performing RCs during the day is obviously a positive way to improve your chances of having an LD. But, who actually triggers an LD from doing an RC?
Just about every time I have an LD it's because I guess I thought about LDing and then performed an RC just out of curiosity, but it wasn't the RC that triggered my awareness to the dream.
I think that RCing is simply a way to remind yourself to be aware of the possiblilty you are dreaming.
Anyone else find this to be the case? (or not the case?)
Usualy people become lucid by noticing somethong wierd. RCing is just a way to see if it is a dream.
Right, but what I mean is that the moment I realize that that it may be a dream or see something wierd I already know I'm in one. The only times I have ever RCed in the dream was because I wanted to know what it felt like when an RC failed.Quote:

there have been times i am not sure if i have awoken - or entered a dream from WILD. the two may appear equally plausible.
i check my hands. if they look weird i know i am now in a lucid dream.
I have had dreams were I live it like a normal day, and I just do a random reality check and bammo, I'm like "hey 9:84? That's impossible, I'm dreaming!".
But you're right that it increases awareness in general, but reality checking can catch dreamers off guard.
When you perform an RC during your waking life you should think, and i mean really think, about if you could be in a dream. If anything out of the ordinary happens you should perform an RC. This way you'll be sceptical about everything in your dream world aswell.
Well cense people do dangerous things in LDs it is kind of a good idea to make sure it is real. RCs also raise awareness to higher levels.Quote:

Maybe, it's because my dreams are never normal. The moment I even question my surroundings I know that nothing at all makes sense.
Or maybe it's because my dreams aren't near as realistic as most folks.
