Effectiveness of "Am I Dreaming?"

I was just wondering if your mind becomes habituated to asking, "Am I dreaming?" It seems if you do a new activity (example, new job) you dream about it (similar to the Tetris Effect) mostly while the activity is new to you. Does the mind become bored of, "Am I dreaming?"

Also, I was wondering if there could be a better alternative. Maybe something like, "Is this my real body?" I'm thinking that could be a better alternative because it has a tangible aspect to it - the body, and thus you're more likely to think about it in a dream.

Any thoughts?

For fun, I made up some alternatives to affirmation,"I'll realise I'm dreaming." No idea if they would be more effective.

I'll realise this isn't my real body
I'll realise I'm a lucid dreamer
I'll remember a lucid dream I had before
I'll remember going to bed last night
I'll realise the environment is a product of my thoughts
I'll know I'm really asleep
I'll know I'll wake up later
I'll realise a failed RC allows me to fly
I'll remember ETWOLD

Ooh I like the "I remember going to bed last night" , I'm going to try attaining lucidity with that

The most important thing is not to do it automatically. Whenever I get the idea "What if I'm dreaming?" I do a realty check while expecting to be dreaming.
It's a bad idea to automatize doing RC's (like doing one every hour), because if you do it without thinking, then you won't think twice in the dream as well.
So, to answer your question, if you can stop it from becoming routine, it should work most of the time (and it does work for me).

Emkinator is right on. It's really more about practicing Mindfulness than just going through the motions of an RC or saying "Am I Dreaming?" Of course doing either is likely to fail when you are running on autopilot. I've had arguments with some of my DCs before about whether or not I was dreaming, and I've spent some dreams teaching DCs how to perform an RC and yet did not become lucid. It's all about your level of awareness. Some of your affirmations seem a little overcomplicated though, it's best to keep it simple when relating to your dreaming mind. And it's important to actually practice mindfulness rather than merely repeating affirmations.
