Sungazing-- does it help Lucid Dreaming??

Have you heard of Solar Healing by HRM ( http://www.solarhealing.com )?
HE has been living on sunlight and liquid foods for past nine years and have been teaching his method of sungazing to all ( Free) for mental, physical and spiritual benifits...

I heard him last November in NJ and since hten have started sungazing my self.
Since then, I am also aving more lucid dreams.. I do not know if there is a direct link between them or not. I know that a lot of sungazers are reporting trans like conditions and increaded awareness during sungazing..

If anyone is interested, I can post a lot more info. on the subject with links to various groups, free books and articles on the subject..Also, I am finding out that contrarary to generl befielf that direct exposure to sunlight is harful, I am finding out refences to many ancient cultrues talking about the advantage and importance of sunlight in lives..

Their website says that. That is wrong (damn that myth). Therefore the validity of the rest of that site is pretty low (it was before I read that bit anyway. It has a scary looking old man in it, for goodnesses sake).

I have been doing sungazing for 10-15 minutes whenever sun is out..
There are many discussion groups on sungazing. some with over 1000 members and many have been reporting physical, mental and spiritual benifits of sungazing... ( Some medical doctors and reserachers are also participating in discussions).

About 100% of the brain active-- it is how you interprete it and what is the present day understanding of the science or a specific group of scientist is.. 100% brain being actrive is not a universaly accpeted concpet. And this understandings are subjected to change as more research is done..
Did you see the recent report ( I think it came out last week) by the chairman of the american cancer society saying that Direct exposure to sun may be benificial to cancer cure .?

It's not that 100% of your brain is not being used, but that only a part of it is being used to immediate tasks and concentration. The rest is used to accept outside stimulus, control involuntary functions, and for unconcious tasks and planning. The human brain would be a silly evolutionary trait if we only used so much of it.

Considering that point.. the brain is a large Input/Output device. if 100% was used consciously, where would the sensory management go, i can tell you this.. genious's who use a large amount of that conscious part, tend to carry various mental disorders which rings back to the point that, in order for the brain to function correctly, its gotta do its own background tasks.

Sorry for the weird explaination, been hacking linux kernel too much today.

uhm... sure sun can give you energy and MAYBE after 9 months of staring at the sun you'll feel no hunger anymore... but how on earth will sun energy give you vitamins, minerals and proteins for your cells ? they need more than just energy to survive.

i'm REALLY not convinced by it... i agree maybe it's beneficial, and OBVIOUSLY sun is good for you... but the claims made on the site are too... new age-ish.

That, or skin cancer.

I am doing sungazing myself and have reached 15 minutes with no problems to eye and I fell a lot more peaceful and energatic.

About skin cancer, there are recent reports( one from the chairman of the American Cancer society) which says that Exposure to sunlight also helps fighting agianst cetrain skin cancers.

Yes, it does help in certain amounts. But continuous exposure it not healthy at all. And looking at the sun directly is especially dangerous for periods of more than a few minutes.

Meus - read more clearly, the site mentions ceasing SOLID foods, you are still receiving vitamins and nutrients but in liquid form. This is known in many health circles as a safer way of fasting... it expels the toxins from your body. Whether or not the gazing has positive effects is left in suspect. And with that...

Yes this is true... I think that Vitamin A is also found in sunlight. This all goes back to ancient Alchemical practices to charge the crystalization of blood... also related to the vibration and resonance of newage crystals... quartz vibrates at Phi (also the Earth's vibration... found in all of nature from the spiral of shells to flowers)... it's this vibration that keeps watches in sync... in essence this gazing practice is harnessing this "ONE" energy into your body... but unless you have conditioned your body with ORMUS, you will not become a superconducting entity... all of this is where legendary myths first arrose... if you can harness the absolute power you will become an omniscient godlike entity - Ra the sungod, Jesus, etc etc. Unfortunately, however, we all must wait until our solar system moves out of a current electromagnetic field in the universe - astronomers estimate 2012 - ironically the same time that Mayans predicted the end of the world - not it's demise, but a new level of consciousness. Thaks for the info.. In ancient times, almost all societies ( red indians, Mayans, Greek, Egyptians) understood the importance of sunlight.. It is only recently that the corporate fundend medical reseach with specific goals has scared people aways from sunlight... I agreee that too much of anything is not good if you are not trained to receive it...

There was a TV show that was called "On The Edge Of Science" here in Croatia nad the topic was immortality and long life they talked about some people from India that lived for hundreds of years because of sungazing. They even mentioned Hira Ratan Manek. The explanation for the effects of sungazing was that there is something in our blood thats similar to the stuff that plants have to produce nutrients for themselves (I don't know how do you call it in english, cloroform or something) and eyes are the only place on the body that sunlight is direct contact to the blood and that 40 minutes (or something like that) is enough for the blood to pass through the whole body. I think that it is very interesting. I think I'll try! 8)

FYI: This subject, as well as LDing and other interesting info., will be covered in the soon to be released movie "What the Bleep do we Know". I haven't seen it, but apparently they interview the Indian guy who has survived for 9 years without solid food by sun gazing.

I have not seen the movie also.. It is coming on DVD on March 15th. The prof. from Uni. of Penn. who stuided HRM is in that movie.

Agreed, but we're talking about staring at the sun here. Losing vision is not a good training method...

The pituitary gland, which controls the entire endocrine system of your body, is situated right behind your eyes. It can actually receive sunlight through the backs of your eyes, and is probably meant to for 100% proper function. Just make sure you spend a lot of time outside during the day to get a healthy dose of sunlight to your pituitary gland.

There is a proper procedure here guys... you need to research what you are responding to. Nobody is talking about walking outside at noon and staring directly at the sun for 3 hours. Sun gazing involves looking at the sun during sunrise/sunset... when it is medically and scientifically proven to be far less harmful and possibly benificial to our bodies. There are vitamins and energy in sunlight, the eyes are a medium to transfer this energy directly into the blood. I'm not saying that it's good or bad, but clearly there have been many cultures in history that worshiped the power of the sun, prayed to it, and practiced in many gazing rituals. There are also many people that claim to have unlocked supernatural powers from the technique... this can be anything from increased memory, or immunity to illness. The idea has been around for a long time, this isn't new... even movies touch on the subject (Pi, for instance). Regardless, you are talking about an intangible ritual, like praying... if your intent is open and pure, you will likely experience a positive effect. The fact that there are more than a handful of people out there who claim to have benifited, should be more than enough proof. If you are looking for a government sponsored agency to release their approval on a spiritual ritual... well, then hold your breath.

mmm, i can smell your retinas burning.

Oh yeah, kanaiz is right.. the old dude just kills it.. really creepy person. I think just looking at a picture of him burned my retinas.

I and my wife do sungazing for over 15 minutes daily ( in the first hour of sunrise) and our eyes get less tired now then before..
We also feel that our mind is much clamer and peaceful now then before we started last November.
