I remember reading somewhere about the levels of lucidity that we have in each dream but not recall where I read it. Can someone point me to it or show some standart chart to follow to put in my dream journal?
I'd also interested in levels of vividness in non lucid dreams and examples of dream journals, specially what relevant data to record, besides the usual description of the dream.

The levels of lucidity/non-lucidity dreams is to have a standard. That way I can see others dream journals that use the same way to record the dreams that I use.
And the relevant data to record in my dream journal is to help seeing trends. Just the dream record I think it's not enough. I want to know what hapenned in that day, which position I was in bed, etc, etc...
I'm sorry, but I don't know of any standard way to measure this. It is such a subjective thing. Maybe you could propose some standard yardsticks for measuring such as like 0=Very fuzzy, 1=Unstable ... 10=More realistic than life
It does sound like an interesting project, but you do not need to compare yourself against others! You only need to measure your own progress, that is the important thing.
Like your WILD tutorial that presents 5 different phases of the WILD technique I think it's good to have some kind of standard. When I talk about WILD (as we are in another topic of this forum) I can say I cannot pass to phase 4 and everyone understand exactly where and what I'm talking about. So, it's a think that could be important to everyone, because we are talking exactly the same language.Quote:

They have a simple metric to show levels of lucidity, but is a very subjective one (1 to 6 from not vivid to very vivid, I think).
And what about the data that is good to include togegher with the dream journal. Do you write something more in your dream journal or just the dream drescription?[/i]

Five Levels of Lucidity by Marc Breault.
In my experience as a lucid dreamer, I have observed five levels of lucidity in dreams. *They are:
1. *Completely nonlucid.
2. *Pre-lucid state. *In this state, I am aware that something is incongruous or out of the ordinary, but I am unable to identify the cause.
3. *Passive dream awareness. *In this state, my dream ego is dimly aware that he is in a dream. *The dream ego, however, is unaware of his ability to control or change the dream in any way. *He feels completely at the mercy of the dream.
4. Dream ego lucidity. *Here, my dream ego is aware that he is dreaming and that he is able to control the dream. *He is, however, unaware that he is really Marc Breault lying in bed.
5.**Complete lucidity. *I am aware I am dreaming, and aware I have full control. *I am also aware of my true identity in the waking world. *

I stay with the 5 levels of lucidity. It could be endless levels, but to control and compare with others oneironauts 5 is ok to me. I liked the definition of Marc Breault posted above and maybe I can work with it and refine it to my dream states.
And this is what I like about standards. When I talk to someone I can say I was in level 4 of lucidity and he/she knows right away exactly what I'm talking about, because he/she already got to this level of lucidity and knows exactly how it feels.
But the first level (non-lucid) is no-lucid at all, so Marc suggests 4 levels. I prefer 5 levels, with the first one being the pre-lucid state.
Well, I have a proposal. Please look at the draft below and put your advices, comments, etc...
Levels of lucidity
0. Non-Lucid
Not lucid at all. One is envolved in the dream. Accepts everything dream
related no matter how absurd it is and takes it for real.
1. Pre-Lucid
Aware that something incongruous/strange happens but do not know that
you're dreaming.
2. Fuzzy-Lucid
Lucid, but can be involved in the dream and loose lucidity entering in
a non-lucid dream.
Can also be lucid dreams that are not so vivid/clear
3. Lucid
Knows that you're dreaming and have absolut control over your
action/thoughts in the dream.
Can also be crystal clear lucid dreams; very vivid ones
4. Super-Lucid
All of item 3 above plus one or more of the following:
Transform the dream world by telekinesis, changing forms or objects,
induce goals or motivation in Dream Characters.
Also knows that you're in bed dreaming, has full recall of previous
actions before sleep.
5. Ultra-Lucid
All the dream world is at your commandment. Every wish you desire is
acomplished. You can be or change everything at will.
In a nutshell: you're GOD!
I like it. I already classify mine as either high-level LD or low-level (2 being low-level and 3 being high-level). It has a few flaws though:

Yes, 4 and 5 are mixing two different things: the levels of lucidity and tasks that you could do when you're lucid. I'm not sure how to classify that interaction with the environment and the awareness level of lucidity that you have.Quote:

But look, when one control the dream world in a more-than-normal-waking-life-expected-way we cannot say that he is more aware then a lucidy guy that just interact with the dream world? Please, any help in this topic is welcome.
Always happens to me. I notice something strange in the dream world but it's not enough to attain lucidity. To me is a kind of pre-lucid state.Quote:

Oh, that never happens for me.. if something was strange i'll recall it later on as being strange.. but not while i'm in the dream.
