Become lucid 75% of the time

Ok. I become lucid very often in my dreams and I have a trick for this that I think is worth sharing with the DV community. I do not know if this should be posted somewhere else, but I believe the attaining lucidity section is good. Majority of my LDs are DILDs. Anyway, I almost always become lucid when I stop to relax. Basically, I do not get caught up in whats happening in the dream, instead I pay attention to whats happening around me. When the dreamer gets very caught up in whats happening in front of them, it is almost impossible to tell that half of the stuff happening does not make sense. I also try to at times when things seem strange, try to close my eyes and change what is going on around me. More than half of the time in a dream, if you take the time to try to change the senselessness, you will succeed. This is what works for me every day or so and I hope it works for you guys. :D

Too first do this though, you got to train yourself to slow down and think. The few LD's I had were from me just slowing down to think but you just need to train yourself to do so. I'm currently working on dream-incubating/MILD, to try and practice other Techniques..

Good technique, but how do you slow down in the first place?

Well you just relax. Have you ever been in a stressful situation but then stopped and breathed so that everything somewhat slowed down and was better. Your dream may not be stressful, but many times it is crazy, so just relax breathe and take a good look around. Seem crazy? Good. That is because you are dreaming. If it does not seem crazy, then that is why I said to close your eyes and try to change something. I know it works for me very often and I hope it works for you.

I don't think I'm getting you. You said not getting caught up in the dream will make us lucid. Wouldn't we need to already be lucid to know not to get caught up in everything?

That's what I was thinking too.

Dreams are made up of daily residue, so what you think about during the day will appear in dreams. If you "slow down" during the day, you will most likely "slow down" in dreams.

TechDreamer understands ^ :lol: Trust me when I say this technique works because I do it all the time. I just kinda know that I am dreaming because I have slowed down.

Not just ‘daily’ residue, sometimes I dream about events that happened AGES ago.

That too. Point is, if happens in your waking life, it'll happen in your dreams, so take time to question your reality. It's very simple and effective if practiced consistently!

Partly true, but I have probably done loads of stuff in waking life that has never appeared in my dreams. I don't think I have ever dreamt about German. However, if you think about something (strongly) loads, chances are it'll leak into your dreams.

I'll take your word and give it a go. For about a week I'm going to try to slow down during my waking hours and hopefully this will carry over to my dreams.
