Difference between MILD and DILD?

i read ETWOLD several years ago, and i'm fairly certain these were explained as separate topics. yet, every time i read something about either one on this site, they're used interchangeably. IS there a difference? if so, what is it?

here's what i THOUGHT it was:

MILD is basically you repeating a phrase ("next time i'm dreaming, i'll realize i'm in a dream") over and over until you hopefully hear that phrase in your dream.
DILD is the same thing except without repeating the phrase and hoping to get lucky noticing a dreamsign.

is that pretty much it?

DILD - Dream Initated Lucid Dream.

This is when you achieve lucidity while sleeping.

MILD - Mnemonic Initiated Lucid Dream.

This is a technique used to help you trigger DILD by using your prospective memory. This can be done by using a mantra such as the one you mentioned above, or through visualization, or by combining both of those things.

So:

DILD - a lucid dream entered while sleeping.

MILD - A way to get DILDs more easily.

It's moreso you remembering what you said. Not actually hearing that perticular phrase.

It doesn't have to be triggered by a dream sign. a DILD can come in many different ways.
