Poll: How do you usually know you're Dreaming?

1) Do you use a technique such as Reality Check or WILD, etc

2) or do you just get a flash of insight and just know for some odd reason that you're asleep, like it's natural, but no signs or logic pointed this out to you?


What percentage, or how often does one happen more than the other?

And how good are you at lucid dreaming, how many have you had so far? (If you've lost track, say that)

Most of my lucids are triggered by the "flash" of realism, but I had a DEILD recently in which I questioned calmly in the real world before melting back into the dream world and becoming lucid for a brief moment before the dream ended.

I've been meaning to get my awareness and RC's back up, but yeah, I use them. They are very useful tools. The physical motions of RC not so much, but the awareness that you can associate with them very much so. ^_^ They don't appear in my dreams, though. To date, not once. I usually just flash for no apparent reason.

Yeah, I'd say about 50/50 for me.

I've had around 75 lucids, and I will usually reality check.

Always spontaneous "flashes". Reality checking and dream sign recognition follows. :P

My best technique is DILD, and using it I've had 146 lucids.

A flash, for sure. Out of the hundred LD's I've had, I'd say 90% of them have been flashes (I don't do RC's anymore, because they never helped).

I have 2 ways that I get LD's:

1) keeping a DJ

2)coming here. Really, when I wasn't here for a few months, my LD's go from 15 a month to one bad one a month!

Most of my lucids have been either when i reality checked or when i did something in a dream that i would never do in real life.

I try to do reality checks during the day but I forget. When I become lucid it is always because of insight or I reconized a dream sign. I haven't became lucid once because of a reality check so far.

I usually notice something feels a little "off", and I use an RC to double check. Wouldn't want to jump off a skyscraper if I'm wrong.

I voted 100%, but now that I think about it, I use fighting as a dream-sign. If someone attacks me, I often snap into lucidity.

Always through RCs, so no flash, or nearly never.

I never have a flash because my dreams are only logical about 1-5% of the time.
