      What Did I See?

This might be the wrong forum, I apologize. But I don't know where else to turn, and I'm not sure I saw what I thought I saw.

Last night was an almost-full moon. I was tasked to lock the chickens up in a pen and did so, with my full-grown german shepherd out with me. I kept getting distracted by the moon, because it was a day away from being full, the night was clear as a bell, and so much moonlight was on the ground that I didn't bother bringing a flashlight.

I locked up the chickens, but when I turned around, I noticed a red blob in the sky. I turned to look at it, and found that it was a star exploding outwards. A bright, almost bloody red, in fact.

It lasted for only two seconds, because then the star sucked all the color back in, looked like a regular star, and then disappeared.

That's the honest, best way to describe it. It exploded outwards, sucked it all back in, looked normal, and then just disappeared.

Help me understand what I saw.

It was not a comet // shooting star, or anything to that effect. I know what they look like. They're white, not red, and this didn't leave a "tail."

I have no idea, but how totally cool.
You'll probably never have a satisfactory explanation, but what a fascinating experience.

It could have been a supernova. It could have been a hallucination. It could have been fireworks, but I doubt it. You may have been seeing into another dimension. Try to dream about it to find out.

Black holes, are stars that collapse inward due to their gravity being too strong for them..

They then absorb all light, and they become perfect black bodies... I doubt that was it because of the whole the star appeared again, (Which I'm guessing wouldn't happen)..

      But, still pretty interesting...

I rule out hallucination because I might have been a little tired, but not that tired. And fireworks, because there wasn't any sound, and I've never seen a firework that operates like that.

I thought of a supernova, but I've never seen one, nor have I seen any real picture of one, besides simulated ones on the Disc. channel.

But I think I will try dreaming. It interests me, very greatly.

What you saw was a localized event. An event that occured within your area, in your immediate atmosphere. Any celestial event with a classification even remotely connected to a supernova or a black hole would be everywhere on the news.

So, here goes a small sample of possibilities.
      1. Fireworks,,,, no offense but sound can travel wierd, and this is the most likely explanation.
      2. A classified governament ariel project that went wrong, and as such is not being reported due to it's classified nature.
      3. The portal things mentioned by wakingnomad is a distinct possibiltiy,,, lots' of theories abound. Hunt for the skinwalker by George Knapp and differeing theories by David Wilcock go on in length regarding this.
      4. From what I understand the Tunguska explosian in Russia that happened in 1909 was supposedly caused by a Pea sized peace of antimatter hitting the earth,,,,so,,,,,,there is that.
      5. And now, I will give you my personal favorite theory, and pretty much lose all credibility with anyone reading this, but alas, I have the balls to do it anyway. I am a firm believer in UFO's visiting our planet. I have heard countless testimonials from retired military officers, and not only is there a cover up, we are apparently firing upon any and all UFO's with some pretty sophisticated tech, with some success I have heard. There is also the testimonial, that the UFO's are firing on eachother as well. So, there that is.

      Good luck with your searches.

I agree with Smitgen above. You will probably never have the answer, but it is still interesting to discuss. How big did this "red blob" get exactly?
