      I understand what ghost means.
Talking about byond dreaming stuff is something, but this kind of fantasy theories are just too stupid...
When its obvious that the op is full of bullshit its not a matter of opinions, its a matter of how stupid the op think we are.

I can come up with some fantasy theory about dreams, then I will post it and evryone will think I m a genius of lucid dreams, then if someone tries to bring some sense to the discussion he will be the one to be cursed one? camon!

This looks like a religious cult in 15 century, you want something to believe in doesnt matter if it makes sense or not, you will convince youserlves that its real, placebo effect.

Was this a huge heist!? Did you just troll hundreds of people for over a year?

I'm probably the least qualified person to say this, but your last two posts in this thread have just shattered your credibility.

He's saying everything you think is true in the dream world. I don't think he shattered his credibility, I think he is still one of the most respected members. He might be a little crazy though.

Oh, okay. I thought he was saying that Ghost94 was right, "lol."

I respect Nomad a lot too, since he's advocating a viewpoint against the flow of popular opinion and sticking to what he thinks he knows. Whether or not his views are right is yet to be seen, but the evidence I've seen points to him at least being on the right track.

OK, this isn't too hard to figure out. It's sort of like bad and good. One person thinks something is good, the other may think it's bad. It's the same thing. One person perceives, believes, and experiences one reality, the other experiences another. Your reality is yours, it is all true. Nothing is real, everything is true. It's just all a matter of perception.

Nah, I don't think WakingNomad shattered any credibility whatsoever. There are just some people that will discredit for the sake of discrediting because of their own perceptions. Everybody tends to do it, some just do it with a little more maturity and class in a debatable and respectable fashion. It's not worth spending the energy on people unwilling to learn or care.

I find that I far more often than not "with" WM and on the same level. I just find it hilarious that amongst a group that believes in the power of the mind and lucid dreaming, finds that such "fringe" discussions so bizarre and "crazy."

Are you comparing believing in a scientific fact with believing in a fantasy story someone posted on the internet?

It's amazing how energy can manifest itself on the dream/astral plane. While the OP does sound completely insane, these concepts could be valid based purely on the people who believe that it's true. It's possible, at least in my theory, that these things exist because of their belief.

Another likely theory is the perception of certain archetypes. What one group of people perceive as a battle between aliens and their strange creation, another person could perceive with a more Judeo-Christian imagery. It reminds me of the philosophy of Chaos Magicians: "Nothing is true, and everything is permitted."

Besides, regardless of whether it's true or not, it still sounds pretty epic. This would make a great story!

In 1847, Dr. Semmelweis, a respected Hungarian physician who was concerned about the high mortality rate of women giving birth in hospital, instituted a procedure at one hospital whereby doctors washed and disinfected their hands before delivering babies. Immediately, the mortality rate dropped from THIRTY percent to near zero. Seven other hospitals followed suit with similar results.

The European medical establishment recognized Dr. Semmelweis’s achievement by blocking his applications for further research funds, vilifying and ostracizing him, and, ultimately, causing him to lose his prestigious positions at maternity hospitals. In America, the newly formed American Medical Association added insult to injury by threatening to revoke the license of any doctor caught washing his hands. Dr. Semmelweis was so distressed that women continued to die that he suffered a mental breakdown that eventually led to his death in 1865.

That's a very interesting story. Why wouldn't medical institutions adopt his practices if he had scientifically proven that a certain procedure would substantially decrease the infant mortality rate? I'm sure his results would have been accepted had he proved his claim scientifically, which I what I'm trying to do for you, Parmenides.

I'm trying to help you out by proving shared dreaming. You can call me Zeno.

Your curt enigmatism really isn't helping. I think you'd get a lot further if you worked on proving shared dreaming rather than just talking about it without any evidence. I'd really like to believe you because some of what you're saying is plausible, but you have to meet me halfway.

Big bag theory, its still a theory........
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
      By dreaming, every day.

Seriously, dude I may be curt, but I am not being enigmatic. Seven hospitals followed suit. People did believe him. And now, all medical professionals wash their hands before they touch patients. You are ignoring the scientific facts. FACT: People believed him.

Secondly, I am not trying to prove shared dreaming. I have stated this many times. I cannot scientifically prove it without experiments in a sleep lab. I am also not trying to convince anyone. I am simply relaying my experiences.

You convince yourself. You try it. It's a lot of work. Don't give up.

Thank you for letting me spend a really fun hour coming up with this three part outline! Sorry if it is off topic, but when I read the two posts that said we could make up a good story like this, I just got really excited about it.

      So what's your story about?
Yes. This is way off-topic, but I encourage you to start a new thread on your new topic. I am glad you are inspired, and got excited, though.

I just watched a film called "Invincible", which is a bit lame, but nevertheless interesting to some oneironauts. It's about some light warriors fighting the dark forces, each one with the strength of an element. It has some scenes of astral projection, dream illusions created by the dark forces to conquer their minds, a mythical white warrior that conquers all evil with love, vortexes, etc.
