A possible way to tell that something could be precognitive before it happens in real life

I wholeheartedly believe that precognitive dreams are possible because statistically, I have more than one a week.

I have never been good at sitting down and daydreaming. I am great at visualizing scenes when I get into a book and I can visualize very well in order to problem solve, but sitting down and just trying to transport myself somewhere has always been very difficult for me. I get too bogged down in details and end up letting every other part slip away. Today I was attempting to incubate a dream with Juroara's law of attraction idea in mind (to be specific, I was at my friend's house for her birthday party that is supposed to be held next Friday and in the incubated dream I was making out with this boy that I like). For some reason, this was quite easy to imagine and I could even feel what I was imagining. This never ever ever happens with me.

I, being the pathetic teenage girl I am, thought, "Maybe I can imagine things really well when they are actually going to happen." Then I sat there hoping for a moment that this was true. Then I realized that this could be a great idea.

What if this was the case? I have been curious ever since I had been aware of my precognitive dreams if there was a way I could tell what events in my dreams would be events in real life. To me, this seems perfectly plausible, like remembering a feeling that you have yet to experience as opposed to making up the feeling.

I have no idea if this has been thought of before, if this idea has thousands of loopholes, has already been thought of and dis-proven before, has already been thought of and proven before, or if everyone just thinks I'm insane, but I thought it was worth sharing. Maybe it was something one of you had never thought of before that could lead to a new and exciting breakthrough. It's worth a post

Of course I would think that because I have spent about a year trying to work out the mechanics about how this, and other stuff like it, actually works. It seems that things that seem very vivid, so it almost seems to have already happened, are things that are on the path of probabilities that you are traveling, I call this being "in the corridor." Like a hallway you are in, you can clearly see things in it but the hallways that are next to you are not clearly visible. It does not mean that you definitely will go there, or do this, but if you go along the same way that you are, you will. Seeing this thing in your future though creates a loop of sorts. If you see it and believe it, it becomes much more likely to be true, which means you can see it more clearly, which means you'll believe it more, etc. etc. I am not sure what you experienced but the idea you came up with is a brilliant one. This is all only a small, but very important, part of a larger engine of reality creation that creates the reality that we term as "real." So as you can see, you actually seem quite aware and intelligent to me :-) I think you should listen more to your ideas. You did 2 great things, you came up with a great idea and you posted it in the hopes of possibly helping others.:clap:

This has nothing to do with predicting the future and everything to do with creating the future you desire for yourself. It is much easier to accomplish once you make the realization that you are in fact creating it, instead of just seeing it ahead of time, since seeing the future is impossible. Creating the future is easy, we all do it every moment of our lives. Most of us just don't realize and so we don't do it very well.

@Caden: Thank you so much. So it is something like, this is the map I am currently following and I CAN change courses but at this moment this is the future I'm heading towards? That seems very interesting and it kind of reminds me of the lecture on Quantum Mechanics we had in AP Chemistry last week (and then my watching of "What the Bleep Do We Know?" the next day).

@Xaqaria: This could be true, but the things I have "predicted" in the past have not been things I would have been able to create myself anyways. Is it because I had a dream that someone used a giant sheet of button candy that my dad brought me a giant sheet of button candy? I hadn't mentioned it to him at all.

I do see how in this instance it does seem a whole lot like making the future I want for myself, but in my previous experience with precognitive dreams it doesn't seem so. My main reason for not thinking this flat out is because I have tried to imagine things and follow the law of attraction a couple of times but as I said, I was never able to visualize anything fully. This one time I tried it with dream incubation as the goal and it was vivid. If it was just myself making my future, the things I had tried to imagine before would have been with similar clarity, wouldn't they have? Again, I'm not saying that my theory is correct, of course I have no idea if it is or isn't, but I feel that it is more than just "making my own future" and either just a random coincidence that it was vivid or has something to do with the future.

I agree with Xaqaria, we are all creating our future. I do not believe that the future is predetermined.

Also why would you assume that this particular instance where you could visualize something clearly means that it is going to happen? Did it happen? If not, then it seems a little premature to start theorizing perhaps.

@ Aquanina: This is exactly why I was weary of posting. Not that I was afraid of discourse, but that I had no real reason to think this or evidence to support my claim. In the end I posted this to spark possible interest in others. Maybe they had a similar experience or some kind of experience that they were trying to figure out and this could give them the perfect idea. I was mostly asking if anyone else had an experience or story that would support this argument. My idea wasn't as much of a "this is exactly what I can do" moment as much as an "aha, I had never thought about it that way" moment and I wanted to see if anyone else had thought similarly. It was just a joke to myself at first and then I decided to think deeper. One reason I don't just think this is me making something happen is that I have tried that in the past and nothing has ever been as vivid (and the things I have tried to make happen never actually happened). Another reason this isn't that far-fetched is that the thing I was imagining is actually quite likely to happen. I guess I'll see on Friday.

@ Everyone saying anything about our future not being set: I don't believe our futures are decided for us either but I believe in something like Caden said. All of the possibilities could exist, and it would be possible to see the future that you are currently headed towards. It's like a weather forecast, it can change if a high pressure system moves differently or something (I don't know enough meteorology to make this metaphor accurate) but with the information they have at that moment they make a prediction. Not that I'd like to mention Twilight (I read it 4 years ago when it came out and I was in the sixth grade) but Alice (one of the characters) can see the future but only once the person has decided on a course of action. I think futures (and predictions) can work similarly to that.

You remind me of me because my foray into the unknown started with dreaming and the law of attraction last year in high school. I think you're the best candidate to test this theory though, as perhaps it only applies to you. But don't be discouraged if it turns out that you're wrong, keep on theorizing !

I have to agree with keiferr, just because you may not have success does not mean you should give up, if that were true none of us would even be walking, or reading, or a number of things right now. All that said, best of luck ;)
