i believe some dreams are NDE's but not all of them. I have read that one of the NDE causes is a drug called DMT to be released causing tunnel vision etc etc, it has yet to be proven though
There are several ideas about NDEs. But my theory is, if you have had a NDE, then your brain was still alive, thus you were having a dream, albeit with a lack of oxygen.
I think that near death experiences are just vivid lucid dreams. NDE proponents claim that they can't be dreaming because it didn't feel like a dream to them. However, as any lucid dreamer will tell you LD's can feel so real that people who don't know about lucid dreams may easily mistake them for some heavenly realm etc. People who have experienced an NDE will commonly say that all the colours where extremely vivid and bright. Now anyone who has experienced a wild knows that this is extremely common.
I once almost drowned at sea because I went too deep and a wave cought me. I remember thinking 'This is the end', while I saw images of the people that I loved flashing my head. They were very real, and I would define it as a summary of your life in a few seconds.
I managed to get back to tge sand, I remember I was shocked, shaking, and crying. Now that I'm into LD, I think there could be a connection, both very realistic
