I'm sure you're the type to find it hard to believe in much. If we cannot envision a better world, then we cannot create one. Because today we live in a society in which spurious realities are manufactured by the media, by governments, by big corporations, by religious groups, political groups... so then "what is real?" Because unceasingly we are bombareded with psuedo-realities manufactured by very sophisticated electronic mechanisms. To get better. I mean, ultimately I think it's about carrying over whatever growth over into our waking lives -- When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. We live in a society of victimization, where people are much more comfortable being victimized than actually standing up for themselves.

A lot of times though, I am just purging my shadow so that it doesn't manifest itself in everyday life.

I thought this was just a discussion for those who fight weird crap in their dreams to make themselves known and share tips and what have you. 'Cause if things really do go horribly, horribly wrong, most of us are going to be alone, completely on our own. If you're truly serious about this apocalypse thing, you should probably start working on waking-life survival skills. We only have, what. . . a little less than two years now?

something will most probably happen on around then idk exactly what but i expect something and dw i'll be training my physical body lol i'm gonna try and start martial arts and i'll be doing gym soo yeah i'm good!

I'm referring to the end of modern civilization, which seems to be a point of concern for the OP. I only picked 2012 'cause that seems to be the most used date for such predictions these days. Personally, I don't think we'll have anything to worry about until 2060 (for lulzy reasons), but that's just me.

And physical strength isn't all there is to survival. In the case of an apocalyptic event, or war, it's very likely that you're going to need how to know to live without electricity, food, shelter, and all those other wonderful amenities most of us take for granted. That kind of training seems more important, and doable, than seeking to wipe out what must be an infinite number of "dream demons" and the like.

Forming preemptive alliances is nice and all, but without the internet it seems as if communication and teamwork will be extraordinarily difficult, no?

I ask again:

What do you guys think you're joining?

I do consider myself a dream warrior, and very much so.

Interesting topic. As a chronic sufferer of wanderlust, I've always enjoyed the thrill of battle in dreams. Though, I don't know if I'd consider myself a warrior. Sounds far too honorable for me, when my dreams clearly point to some underlying darkness in my psyche.

I consider myself a dream warrior, but I'm not going to be a part of war. Ever. I'd rather prove my life in a different way than to end someone (or something) elses.

Question for Captain frapo, how do you know about all this alien stuff. How do you know for sure theyre real and their motives and such.

i mean sure if w.e this is true then why not assist? and its a nice thing to do in your dreams anyways.... fun and whatnot....

and yeah i enjoy wilderness survival shows on discovery channel so i guess that may help?

I'm joining nothing really, just pointed out I like to fight in dreams lol
I like to be a lone fighter anyway, so yeah.

Yes definitely a dream warrior. I actually go around on a nightly basis seeking fights with other entities, because as you said: its good practice, training and preparation. It's also a lot of fun and good experience.

I am also one to use blades and martial arts as first preference over other forms of fighting. Something quite strange is that there have been many dreams where I have defeated an opponent using martial arts, but I've been pulling off moves like I'm Jet Li or Jackie Chan, like I'm an expert in all types of martial arts, like Neo in the matrix. Its fkn awesome to do, and I've managed to do it in lucid dreams too! Either I learnt these moves in a previous incarnation, or perhaps my subconscious has learnt them all from watching TV.- who knows could be a bit of both. I would be interested to hear if this happens to anyone else? Its really quite bizzare because I'm by no means an expert in martial arts IRL, but in some dreams I am - how is this even possible?

when i started practising wing chun in waking life 2 years ago, it got more and more implied to my dreams. in the beginning i was hesitating to make a real use of it, im not convinced of beating someone with my fist in their face. that attitude also showed in my dream fights, was more cuddling than fighting.
but with the months i improved my skills in waking life, and so was my dream fighting skills. i also changed my mind about that whole fighting stuff, learning wing chun now as what its meant to be, martial arts. before that i saw it as a well practise for body and mind, going beyond limits.

so @Eonn,
i also notice having no problems at going beyond my waking life skills in a dream. its much more fluid and feels more natural to me.

though im not lucid enough atm, so im not practising my dream fighting skills at will. but when a fight is coming up, i really enjoy the thrill of playing around with my wc skills.
