Laid bare for all - 15 years of precognitive dreaming
Hello fellow dreamers,
After 15 years of keeping a journal of my precognitive dreams, I am no longer shy about being so unique (read weird). Exposing all for people to read/comment on.
My name is xxx, born xxx 1981. For most of my life I have had (on/off basis) dreams that I refer to as ‘mildly premonitious’. In a nutshell, for me these are vivid dreams (not hallucinations; not side effects of drugs or alcohol etc.) that whilst not always able to accurately depict what I’m about to experience the following day, give sufficient detail that is enough to give me that “Oh sh*t, I dreamt that!” moment when it does actually happen. It doesn’t scare me, it’s quite amusing at times. I am at present both an IT contractor as well as a freelance airline pilot (Yes, my medical condition is thoroughly checked once a year :D)
There is a rather strange aspect to these precognitive dreams though. Dwelling on the dream in detail before the event dreamt about has a chance to happen, results in the event not happening at all! The event will only happen if the dream is not dwelled on when awake. I.e. any memory of it is not accessed. Writing it down or discussing it with someone before the event will result in the event not happening (if it ever was going to happen in the first place). That is the honest truth and has been my experience for as long as I can remember.
I began writing my journal at about age 15 and due to being young (and obviously quite stupid), have failed to capture dates around my entries! In fact this stupidity lasted till I was much older! The Journal spans about 15 years and is not very detailed. I’m not an especially emotive person and therefore would rather cut out the crap and feelings to get straight to the point. I would estimate that there are another 10 entries that have too much of the ‘it could be a co-incidence’ factor hence I’ve left them out. On top of this, some I didn’t get around to writing down before I forgot the detail (estimate another 10 or so). The ones that I have written entries for are honest and concise. Dreamt of frogs. After waking up, I turned on the TV. First thing I found myself watching was a “frog race” on CITV (Children’s show).

Dreamt of insects, crawling beneath my legs – all sorts. Woke up, lifted the sheets to find a woodlice in bed with me!

Dreamt of me mopping the floor. Woke up, went to the bathroom, saw a huge puddle of water, instinctively picked up the mop and began mopping the floor before I recalled the dream.

Dreamt of an extra-large mop dog (up close). On the way to school, turned the corner and there standing is a humongous mop dog waiting for his owner to catch up.

Dreamt of a fight between neighbours. Later that afternoon I came home from school, sat down for a cup of tea, 2 minutes in and I hear a loud smash as some glass breaks. I rushed outside to find a group of thugs standing outside my neighbour’s house ready to thrash my neighbour’s son.

Dreamt of my garden being on fire. Woke up to cries, rushed to the window to find my little (at the time 5 yo) brother trapped between a blazing shed and the fence. The rascal used to play with matches!

Dreamt of 2 yoghurt pots. Felt very hungry in my dream, went for them only to find they were over dated by a year! Woke up, went down, father had a bollocking at us for not eating the yoghurts in the fridge and allowing them to go to waste. Went to the fridge to find they were over dated by a week and a half.

Dreamt of a huge council tax bill, in the red. Woke up went down, sat at the breakfast table. Father hands me a letter, I open it to find an astronomical phone bill for which I’m responsible for (Edit: This was back in the days of dial up Internet)

Dreamt of me being in school, in class. A fire bell goes off, we all rush outside to find we’re faced with a massive towering fire. I pick up a water hose (no idea where it came from) and begin spraying water at the fire. I feel flames fall on my face. I wake up in the morning, come down and switch on the TV to find 88 people have just died in Thailand after a hotel caught fire. (Edit: Ref 1997 - Pattaya Royal Resort Hotel fire, in Thailand, killing 88, on July 11)

Dreamt of me being stuck in a lift with a colleague, the lift tilts and we fall at speed. Go into work the next morning to discover the lift is broken and extensive repair work is being carried out on it as I enter the building.

Dreamt I was lost in some alien (new to me) town and was being chased by a gang (don’t know who). As I was walking fast, I came across a sign post marked ‘Atlantic City’, I followed this and then woke up. That day, on my way to work, I’m crossing the road to get to the office and just outside the office there’s a woman who spots a man she knows, as the man nears her he asks her “You’ve been on Holiday? where did you go?” she replies, “I’ve been to the States…..Atlantic City!” (Edit: This one really freaked me out and I was speechless for days)

The below occurred on the same night as the above:
Dreamt I was flying in the cockpit of a jet, with 3 others when all of a sudden we had a fire breakout and a rapid decompression event. I could feel the heat, and felt the pain of being unable to breath. The masks then came down, I put mine on and could taste the sweet taste of Oxygen which brought me back to a stable state.
After waking up, and as part of my normal morning routine, I logged onto my computer, and came across a discussion forum for professional pilots. The first subject thread I stumbled upon and clicked was titled ‘Oxygen Masks’. A split second after the click, I had remembered my dream. Would this have happened if I didn’t remember my dream??? This is weirdness!

I dreamt that I kept on looking out of the window and seeing my dad’s car parked with nobody around it but with the front bonnet open and engine exposed to the rain. I thought how strange, since it’s 2AM in the morning.
After waking up, I went down for breakfast and over breakfast I heard my mum say to my dad, “I’ve just been out and your car’s sunroof was left open last night - It’s rained too”.

In my dream, there’s a goat grazing in front of me and won’t move. I wake up go downstairs, after watching about 5 minutes of TV there appears a real goat from a kiddy’s program.

I dream that I was standing on an exotic beach when someone carrying an exotic looking reptile walks up to me to show me the animal. I’m amazed at how unique it appears to be. During the train journey to work, I pick up a newspaper left behind on an empty seat, turn a few pages to read about “The latest reptilian finds” – An article, complete with photos of the latest discovery of reptiles and frogs.

Dreamt I was in an enclosed room with a soft brown light. The room had lots of antique furniture in it, including a dark Oakwood dressing table. I open the top drawer of this dressing table and find in there a very large bronzy looking ring with a large ruby on top. It was so large that I asked myself how somebody could wear it. I’m pondering whether or not it was designed for two fingers to go into it when a Rastafarian looking black man takes it off me and demonstrates how it’s worn – I.e. on two fingers.
That morning, on the train journey to work, I decided to take up the only seat left in the carriage. My aisle contains only women (relevant or not, I don’t know). I look over to the left to peep over at my the newspaper being read by the women on the left. Before my eye focuses on any particular story on the newspaper I’m mesmerised by the extra-large red stone topped (ruby?) ring worn by the women next to me on her right hand. It was worn on one finger but the top was extremely large. Large enough to be noticed!

Dreamt that I received a phone call from my cousin Barry whose house granddad was staying at. He calls in the middle of the night and says “xxxx, granddad is…” I hear nothing more and wake up.
That day, granddad has a heart attack but survives.

In my dream, I saw a photo of Margaret Thatcher (ex UK PM) when she was young(er). Photo looked like it was stitched together. That morning, after breakfast, watching the news on TV, there’s a story about Margaret Thatcher and some guy who is painting portraits of her.
Dreamt I saw a plane flying low with scaffoldings attached to it! (Read that again) That morning in bed, Misses comments, “do you like my scaffoldings?” (referencing her bra). Edit: WTF?!?

In my dream I am doing a bit of IT support in a university/college running around from room to room switching on computers (something I had been doing that week as I took up a 3 day contract). During the dream, I accidently open the door to an examination room with students taking their exams. Upon realising I quickly walk out.
In the morning, watching BBC news on TV, there’s a 5 minute piece about how examinations are being conducted in schools with a discussion on how some students feel distractions are very common.

Two dreams
1.) My little boys cheek is red. I wake up, my little boy is pulling at me and annoying me. Without my eyes being fully open, I end up whacking him for annoying me, he’s cheek goes red. Wife tells me off for it. I recall the dream!
2.) Had a dream that it’s a friends birthday, he is in his car at a set of traffic lights with his window down. Well wishers pull up by his side and squirt a foaming spray (silly string?) into his car (on him) and cover his car with it.
That morning, watching kiddy’s TV, there's a part when two kids squirt silly string at their father.

Had a dream of some lady massaging my feet with oil – lots of it (to the point where it gets rediculous). That morning, my son gets some canestan cream from his mothers draw and massages my feet with it!
