What was this?
After waking up at 10:30AM, I stayed laying on the futon for 5 minutes, trying to remember any dreams. I couldn't recall anything. I didn't feel tired enough to go back to sleep but I thought I'd try a WILD anyway. I laid on my stomach and slowly counted down my breaths from 99. I was mentally mixed up when coming to the lower numbers and caught myself counting upward a couple numbers. I lost my focus on re-counting many times, with loopy thoughts coming in. It had been awhile and nothing happened, so I switched positions onto my right side and tried once more. Yet again, nothing happened. I went back to my stomach position, thinking I should forget about trying a WILD, or maybe I'll try an OBE. After a moment of being relaxed and forgetfulness, I found myself in a different situation. (There's this collapsible white table that I used months ago for doing my homework here in the living room, I would set it up right in front of my when sittng on the futon.) I was sitting on the same futon, at the table, and leaning on it with my face. Thinking of doing an OBE, I reached to the opposite side of the table and grasped on. I pulled myself slightly and began drifting forwards out of my body. Usually at this point I am too scared to continue. Not this time, I let go of that fear and went for it. I was slowly drifting through mid air towards the kitchen. I stopped near the ceiling and in the dining room. I felt aware of all of this. I said out loud (or so I think) "Go up" to which I began to but turned around. I drifted passed my body, looking to see if I was in a comfortable position. I was moving towards the backyard as it came to an end. I faded back into my body laying on the futon. It wasn't the usual sensation of hypnopompia that I felt, this time I had an odd sensation all around me, like a stream of release, except I was coming back in and not out. It wasn't a scary experience, it was a very fun and interesting one. After returning to my senses quickly, I thought to myself, what was that? I never did a reality check like would induce a lucid dream, and it didn't feel like a regular dream because I felt I had control. Dream, LD, OBE? Any thoughts?
