My other life?

Since I can remember, I've had dreams about places that I have never experienced, but are now quite familiar to me (through dreams). There are about a dozen or more locations that I have been dreaming about all my life, settings if you will. The same things don't take place in each setting either, always a different experience with different people but the same places. Anyone have a similar experience. I'm baffled at what this world of mine is. P.S. When I was about fifteen, I had a flying dream. I was flying over land on a sunny day. As I got closer to the ground, I could see the school I'd always dreamt of, and next to it was the rose garden and behind that the apple tree near the lake. Down a ways from that was the convenience store and next to that was the old house with a hidden middle. Anyway, I was able to identify about ten of my recurring dream places at that time. I drew a map and find myself adding to it yearly. (All the places I named just now are my "titles" for the places I go when I sleep, if you were confused.

Sounds interesting! I'd write down or record how these places are, perhaps they're specific places on this Earth? Or beyond the Earth? I have something similar happen in my dreams; its like each one has its own culture and I'm aware of what all is going on in each dream even though they are (supposedly) new each time.

You know, I highly doubt they are on earth in this age, but they are on an earth like planet for sure. I'd love to call them recurring dreams, but the dreams in themselves are not recurring. Just the setting. I've been working with my spirit guides for about a month now. The first question I asked of them, a few days ago, was to take me somewhere in my dream world. They decided to take me to the house I frequent the most.

I think dream world is the correct term. I also have places where many of my dreams take place. I managed to draw a map of it. Also my home and the area surrounding it is in my dream world, but it doesn't look like in the waking world. Most of my dreams in my dream world take place in the area surrounding my home, a city (of the two cities in my dream world) or in a templelike building. My memories of the building are... elusive, I know what the building and the are are like, I can even picture them in my mind but still somehow I can't picture it properly. I also have never been in the building, though I have been in the area at least 40+ times. Also, thinking of my dream world reminds me of emotions felt there, people met there and everything that has happened... the feeling when you walk alone in a wasteland, hostile creatures after you, frustration, feelings of isolation and cohesion.

yeah over the last few years i have realised that i keep reliving the same dreams and same places in dreams. even to the point where ill realise ive seen it before and start to explain to people around me the different locations surrounding us we can go to visit. going to try to draw some of them soon. many of them are absolutely based 100% on real local places but just dream versions, which freaked me out as a kid because id wake up completely believing id just been down a local park, except everything was different and amazing. the recuring ones include a beach/ lagoon with a high wall at the back of the beach and a semi enclosed bay with tropical islands dotted around if you go further out. a massive lake/aquarium with all sorts of weird beasties on the edge of london city centre. 3 local parks which i often fly between along the river which connects them- it took me ages to realise that these dream locations were pretty accurate if you had put them on a real map. also many different combinations of various holiday places ive been to. one with a surreal play area/bar complex thingy which id love to revisit soon. also have many dreams where i am in my garden except the land just opens up as if its directly connected to the natural area surrounding it. having done alot of travelling between the south and manchester i have loads of dreams where i revisit that journey. being ameter reader i think led to my recurring theme of exploring the underground parts of the buildings of dreams. led me to a great symbolic one of seeing all the mushrooms growing in the caverns under my local church having recently started a driving job, i hope to be able to add alot to my locations as i travel around. london is already an amazing place when i get there in dreams, i cant wait to see how it could appear if i start to actually see alot more of it

Thanks for sharing! Read Neverwhere by Niel Gaiman. Fantastic book, WakingNomad. I wonder if it is in the same universe as American Gods/Anansi Boys? Anyway, I don't think this is a past life. I won't discount the possibility that you have picked up on the energy of someone past- and are somehow linked to them- or that your essence/soul is sensitive to the dead and through your dreams you are a catalyst- reliving old memories. I am not claiming that I believe in any of that, but only that I don't discount it as what you, (or anyone who claims to have had past lives,) are experiencing. But in the end, you are the culmination of your biology- your brain- and your experiences. Even if the most basic truths behind existentialism, or neurology for that matter, are true then you can never truly be anyone but yourself. Who you are is developed, not inherent. I find this concept rationale and freeing.

There is London. Then there is lower London, a city within a city. It is mystical and unpredictable and is made of those individuals who have fallen through the cracks in society. Any more may spoil some plot revelations for you. Like anything by Gaiman, it is excellent.

I'm fascinated with the phenomena of having a 'dream world' that you often visit in dreams, and which seems to be composed of your childhood neighbourhood, every school you've gone to, cities you've visited etc. I've been mapping mine too. I once read a post citing some Russian research about it but can't find it anymore.

I am so happy I saw this, I've had these types of dreams as long as I can remember. In fact lately my dreams have been so intense and real that I'm having trouble knowing when I'm awake or when I'm dreaming. I feel very mixed up, something is happening to me, someone is trying to contact me but I always get too scared to let them all the way through. I can see auras now....or what I believe to be auras. I dont know if I'm becoming open to something or if I'm schizophrenic lol. anyway, thats off topic, I know, so these other worlds that I exist in, I would love to know if anyone else goes there too. Sometimes I'll meet someone in a dream and wake up feeling so compelled to find this person, but I haven't their name. Or someone will write something down for me in a dream but I cant ever remember what it said. I need some clarity in these matters.

I guess it's just a perspective thing. In real life I've got an excellent natural compass. Spin me around and I'll tell you what direction I'm facing. I think this must translate to dreams because when I am feeling out a dream recall, I get a strong sense of where everything is in relation to everything else.

Also typically people are drawn to northern hemispheres, you can see this in our world and how when NASA and the like explore other worlds they typically stick to the northern hemispheres. You can also see this in ancient maps from all over the world, almost all have N as the top. You on the other hand seem to have been drawn to the south or east depending on how you look at it. I ask because its just that such seemingly little things usually tell a lot about the person and the place.

So you are relating this to the real world? Sorry for all the questions. I bet you never thought people would be so interested in such small details. I think its the picture, it says so much and is very interesting. Please draw more and post them.

Yes I have had dreams of houses Ive never been in but find myself in them frequently in dreams, they are never exactly the same each time of course but for some reason I "know" them. There is a space in one of the rooms where I climb up into the ceiling into a hidden room to hide (from whatever it is I am hiding from at the time) and one has a completely hidden room, that is like a bedroom bunked off from the rest of the house like it was sealed for years (but somehow I am able to go back and forth) And one is a house where I feel like Im a kid again and my parents have kind of sprung this unexpected move, so Im not so familiar with the house. Very odd.
