      Explain this, please.

I don't believe in shared dreaming or astral projection, but this experience has made me less skeptical about such things.

O.k., so I had an appointment at the Social Security Office last week. A couple of days after this appointment I had a strange dream. I dreamed that my case worker left the office because of problems in her marriage, and that this "problem" somehow caused her to leave (or lose) her job.

The day after this dream, I received a letter from the Social Security Office telling me that I need to come again to finish some paperwork. The person who signed the letter is someone I never heard of, but strangely, the room number (87) is my case worker's room number.

So I arrive there the next day, and I learn that my case worker got married, and changed her name!

I find this to be very interesting. I didn't dream exactly what happened, but the topic of my dream was her marriage. The next day I find out she married. She didn't lose her job, but she changed her name.

So, is this just a coincidence? It is kind of hard to believe. If it is not a coincidence, then what is the explanation?

pff this is just precognitive dreaming and doesnt really need shared dreaming or astral projection to be true and for your sceptism on shared dreaming check out atras's http://www.dreamviews.com/f19/intern...roject-117888/

Well, I was a skeptic of precognitive dreaming too, until this happened.

      So what is your explanation?

i cannot explain i can just observe and accept that precognitive is true or that the many similar experiences like yours i had are just coincidences i have seen that precognitive occurs in morning dreams when i go back to sleep
i have already seen a bad grade i was going to get on a test too that has no explanation , well

      This is very interesting.

It reminds me of an dream I had once when I was staying with my friend for a few weeks. I woke up early in the morning, fell back to sleep into a WBTB (Wake back to Bed) lucid dream, and remember jumping out the window of my room and finding two girls coming down a set of stairs to greet me. One looked rather Asian and they were both about my age.

I wake up a little later, head out into the living room, and my friend's wife had her sister and her friend over... two girls I had never met before about my age; one looked rather Asian.

I could get into the theories of how this works, but suffice to say, yeah I believe. ^^

But how do these things occur? How do we replicate them?

You can beckon the experience. find small things in a dream that you can repeat in your waking day. say you dream of chocolate or root beer. ingest those the next day etc. Dream of a flower. go smell some flowers the next day.

Uhh. That is not even remotely accurate enough to account for anything. Not worthy of a thread IMHO. You just had remotely similar topics in your dream and IRL the day after.

if nearly the exact events happened, you might have something worthy to say. That happens too, though I don't believe dreams could tell the future.

What a useless comment. Enjoy shutting others down?

I don't believe dreams could tell the future.
Not surprising. Given how fast you want to pull others' honest, open minded inquiries down, I'm sure you shut your self down all the time without even realizing it.

Melisa, my best advice for you for now is to continue to DESIRE to seek these experiences. (Desire means taking action, writing dreams down, asking for more experiences, etc...) The more you desire it, the more results you'll obtain.

I used to be extremely skeptical on precognitive dreams until I had three dreams that were SO coincidental that I couldn't just forget about them. They were even written down in my journal before I experienced the "events" with which they shared similarities. I'm not certain if they were truly precognitive or just EXTREMELY coincidental (very very very much so), but I can't just rule it out because it goes against the current state of science.

Not sure how it's related to AP or Shared Dreams, but the best scientific explanation I was given was from a String Theory proponent who said that we are currently in the past, present, and future all at once, but we only experience the present right now. If we are dreaming, and somehow our brain "blips" into the future for a moment, we could be seeing a possible outcome of what will happen. It makes sense, but it's unsettling to experience when you've always been told that dreams are all in your head, and you have an uncanny feeling of Deja Vu, or just shock.
