Strange Experiences - Please comment and Thank you

Hello everyone! I am so glad I stumbled across this website as I have had two strange things happen to me in the past recently, and I believe they are similar if not the same things you are all talking about here, lucid dreams? I will get right two my two experiences and welcome any comments as to what happened etc?

      1. I was lying in bed one night, on my back, arms at my sides, trying to fall asleep, then I felt what I can only describe as static or crackling sounds in my ears, I laid there still, and then I next felt something like waves of energy starting from my toes, come up across my body to the top of my head, this repeated a few times, each time the static sounds in my head or ears increased also, like loud electric sounds. Then all of a sudden it stopped, and there was just silence. Next I found myself about 1 foot off my bedroom floor next to my bed. It was my room.... exactly like it always is, complete with all my normal furnishings. Strangely I had no body or form, I felt that I was nothing more then a very small point of light, or maybe a tiny orb of energy. But in this form I could see everything clearly. I did not move, I just stayed there floating about a foot off my floor next to my bed, in this body-less form, then I thought about myself asleep in the bed next, and above me and BOOM! I found myself awake with a heck of a jolt that startled me wide away. I sit up, and needless to say, I stayed awake the rest of the night after this happened.

      2. About two weeks later, I laid down on my couch to take a nap in the afternoon, almost as soon as I laid down, I heard what sounded exactly like a cork being pulled from a wine bottle, POP! in my right ear. I instantly found myself sitting in my chair, next to the couch. I looked around my room, and it was completely normal, and light, as it was around 3 pm, I then turned to my left and saw myself lying on the couch. Boom! I suddenly found myself on the couch, and wide awake.

I don't know if these are the Lucid Dreams talked about here, and welcome any detailed explanations as what is happening to me! also, I do not know if it's related, but about 3 days before the first strange experience in my bed, I was in my kitchen one evening, and all of a sudden I noticed my living room, glow or light-up with a strange blue colored light, then it faded away. I was wide awake and sitting at my kitchen table when this happened, I believe it was around 2:30 - 3 am, as I had come home after midnight, after working the 3rd shift.

You know the blue coloured light? That happens in my room through a crack in the curtains and as we live in the country side, there are no cars or street lights. It went on and off for about forty seconds, stopped thirty seconds, and then carried on for another forty. No clue what that is, or if it has anything to do with the sounds.
The sounds are generally part of the transitional stage in WILD, and the looking about the room and seeing yourself sounds pretty much like an out of body experience (OBE).

Come to think of it, I had my first OBE a couple of weeks after the blue light. Weird
Are you asleep and imagining you're reading this or imagining you're asleep and actually reading this?

Welcome to DV! Since you don't seem to know, a lucid dream is just a dream during which you know you are dreaming. This leads to dream control, which leads to awesome experiences like flying through the Grand Canyon or whatever else you feel like doing.

The sounds and feelings you felt as you went to sleep are caused by sleep paralysis. Every time you go to sleep, your body paralyzes itself so you don't act out your dreams in real life, and this process causes all sorts of weird and sometimes even horrifying sights, sounds, and feelings that are different for different people. It's completely harmless and normal though. Most people fall unconscious before the paralysis happens so they don't remember it, but in your case you stayed conscious throughout sleep paralysis and through the transition into the dream.

You basically performed one of our most popular (and arguably more difficult for beginners) techniques for getting lucid dreams (WILD), without even knowing it. Everyone here is pretty jealous I'm sure

It sounds like you went into an Out of Body Experience (OBE) afterwards; I'm not so familiar with them. 2 also sounds like an OBE. I have no idea what the light could have been.
