What causes the fear of not wanting to Astral Project?

Ok I was looking into astral projection again and I was wondering. What would cause some of the fears of people not wanting to astral project? What do you think causes this fear? What do you think people are afraid of? This was something interesting I was thinking and I wanted to know what you guys think of what causes this kind of fear. I am into AP and dream sharing my self but I am a little afraid of trying it my first time. But I think I have experienced one before. And I have heard from allot of people that Astral Projecting has changed their lives. If anyone has something to share please share it. :)

Some people think it is sinful to astral project so that could scare them. It's also just a fear of the unknown. Going into an world you have never even seen pictures of can be daunting for some people.

The one time I got anywhere close to projecting, the intense vibrations ended up spooking me. I've yet to get back to that state again. :(

I know the feeling, It would be cool to astral project and explore areas and fly around and stuff. I'm just wondering what you should do if you want to go back to your physical body, etc. I guess most people fear of things harming them when they are in the astral plane. I'm not an expert at this stuff though. It would be good to experience this stuff.

It's mostly fear of the unknown; the first time you attempt to AP, you might not know what to expect. This includes any hallucinations, vibrations, and other 'symptoms' that come with SP, which is the gateway to an AP.

It's also the notion of being on the astral plane that might spook some people, as it doesn't act the same as the dream plane.

I completely agree with you there Puffin. I can see why people are afraid to astral project, You don't know whats waiting for you on the astral plane. I've also read that some people were in the astral plane flying around minding their own business something unexpectantly came out of no where and knocked them back to their physical body. Can that happen to you when your in the Astral Plane?

Skarr obviously means negative entities.

APing is completely safe. People are scared of the unknown and almost everyone naturally is scared of projections because it is similar to the separation that occurs when you die. The vibrations are also very intense and most people are startled and come out of trance from them. Getting back to your body is simple....just think about your physical body/where it is and you snap back in sometimes very suddenly. To remember your AP reflect upon your experience immediately after the experience because your brain is still in the theta/beta state.
