What happened -> Woke up in middle of night in vibrational stage

What happened last night? I woke up in middle of the night in vibrational stage, it caught me off guard so I was fighting it. Threw my hands/arms up trying to move them, I noticed they moved slow, very slow. like if I was to strap 15lbs to each of my hands, thats how slow. And my hands when I locked at them where flickering, on and off, visible and not. Then I have no memory of after, must have just gone unconscious

I was in a slight panic/freaked out because it caught me off guard lol, couldn't relax I needed to just take control, shut up and relax. But I was like, spooked, looking at the ceiling for the shadows to start morphing, like I was expecting to get the sh!t scared outta me.luckily nothing happened but I was just fighting the vibrations. I gotta get that fear out of me lol

So what I just had, was I conscious in my astral body? And was laying in my physical body inline with it?

You probably woke up in SP and had hallucinations of watching your hands, basicly the beginning of a dream. Don't worry about it, it might be spooky for the dream not to have taken form yet and seeing very random, dark and sometimes sinister things, but it's all in your head. Enjoy the ride next time!

I wasn't having any hallucinations, I was in the room I was sleeping in. Don't think it was the beginning of a dream, I think it was sleep para. but further along the line. Like if I would've done an exist tech. I could've had an out of body experience if I wasn't caught so off guard

That sounds like a hallucination to me. Remember, hallucinations can alter any of the five senses.

Sleep Paralysis IS the beginning of a dream. You could have achieved lucidity, if you hadn't freaked out

Do any of you guys know what astral projection is? or an OBE? I feel I was much closer to that. I feel like I woke up leaving my body, and that it was my astral arms/hands I was seeing in front of me. Moving like a sloth fighting the super strong vibrations

I don't believe Sleep Paralysis is a part of a dream, you can dream you're in sleep paralysis yeah I guess if it scares the poop outta you, but I don't hold fear toward it. Sleep paralysis IS when you're consciously in your body, and your physical body is still asleep but mind awake. I was more than lucid, and I wasn't dreaming. But also in my state, I had vibrations and two hands and arms that where flickering on and off lol

The point is, sleep paralysis is our body's way to prepare to sleep/dream. With paralyzing our body, we avoid the troubles with moving and screaming in our dream. Dogs don't have sleep paralysis, and because of this you can find dozens of funny-dreaming-dog videos on YouTube etc.

The point on what? That wasn't a conclusion to anyone's question, hence not contributing.

I just realized this whole forum doesn't believe in astral projection, I cannot believe this..

There are plenty of believers of astral projection on this site thor, but I find it interesting that you are so upset that no one is telling you were projecting. You don't really care what anyone is saying you just want to be told you almost had an OBE.

I suggest listening to what everyone is saying. You were paralyzed and saw almost textbook hypnagogic hallucinations before admittedly slipping into a dream. Congratulations on getting close to a WILD!

I just realized that this "whole forum" has only 4 members. But seriously....you're not going to get a lot of "Oh yeah, that was AP" replies in the general lucid dreaming second of this forum. Try creating a thread in the beyond dreaming section instead, and I'll gladly lock this one.

Yup, like Auron said if you want to talk about OBE's Beyond Dreaming is definitely the place to go. IMO, it sounds like you were just experiencing sleep paralysis.

No I wasn't upset, I didn't want an OBE thats why I was fighting it. I know how to induce them and I'll do it when I'm ready, this was like a spontaneous one was just seeing if anyone else here has had the same experience.
I've experienced many WILDs, it was the same vibrational waves yeh, but I had arms and hands dude lol I wasn't a hallucination. I had arms and hands that i could pass thru eachother

And why are you so sure it wasn't a hallucination, and that it was your astral body?
I'm not insinuating you weren't close to astral project, just trying to figure it out.

Hypnagogic hallucinations can be in all the 5 senses. You can see them, hear them, fell, taste and smell them. Altough the most common are visual and auditive HH.
I'm not into OBE's and Astral Projections anyway, not sure what more I can say.

"Hypnagogic hallucinations occur just before falling asleep, and affect a surprisingly high proportion of the population. The hallucinations can last from seconds to minutes, all the while the subject usually remains aware of the true nature of the images. These may be associated with narcolepsy. Hypnagogic hallucinations are sometimes associated with brainstem abnormalities, but this is rare." - Wikipedia

And I didn't said Astral Projection wasn't real, actually I believe in it, I just said I wasn't into it.

I already know everything what they were saying, wasn't anything new to me, and they weren't considering my theory.

Your theory: What you saw, were your astral body's hands, flickering on and off.
Everyone's theory: You had hypnagogic hallucinations. The shadows you saw morphing on the ceilling, and your hands flickering were hypnagogic hallucinations due to sleep paralysis.

Otherwise, how would you explain the shadows on the ceiling? That sounds just like HH.

Read again, I did not say I saw the shadows morphing. I looked at them expecting! to see them to start morphing but they didn't. I was in a state of shock and panic, and was just freaking out for a minute because I woke up in the middle of super strong vibrations lol

When you woke up and saw your hands. You said you were expecting the shadows to start morphing in the ceiling, because you though it was SP, right?
