An Exciting Development

...For me
I'll start from the beginning...
Around 3-4 I was chatting with LucidOne... we were mostly just talking about dreams, and duality, intent, etc...
I experienced a line of synchronicites that were to obvious to miss...
I said farewell to LucidOne and told him that I needed to get something done...
So then I proceeded to go straight to my room and lie down.
My ego remained in the drivers seat for awhile... then I found myself in a few strange dreams, which I can't recall right now...
I woke back up a few times, but without opening my eyes... and I could still see the room... and I knew instinctivly that it was a good time to start experiementing...
So i tried to imagine seeing the whole house and yard... I got a few flashes of outside perspectives.
I fell back asleep
Soon enough I found myself across the river at eagle point park... and I had the feeling I was supposed to meet someone... but no one was there except a car that was parked, oddly enough, next to an off-limits path going into the woods and down to the river...
I start going down the path... then faster, and faster AND FASTER and then... I became more lucid than I have ever been before
I was back in my bed with my eyes closed... I could still see my room but there was a mirror that was on the wall but beginning to creep onto the ceiling above my bed.. that's not really there but I didn't think of that. I thought "A mirror... that is how I can get out of here" or something like that.
I felt an incredible flow of energy... similar to my other lucid experiences... but this was beyond that... this was about to be my first REAL out of body experience without the use of drugs.

And what do you know... my legs start to float up off the bed...
Just my legs... and then my torso... and at this point my legs were pointing directly up... but my shoulders and arms and my head stayed planted firmy to the bed...
There was a bit of a struggle... I was so in awe that my bottom was floating and I couldn't even think about my top at this point...
My eyes snapped open... I recapped the experience to make sure I wasn't tricking myself... I wasn't.. it happened.
I closed my eyes and tried to picture the mirror and the room and my legs floating off the bed... didn't get anywhere for a few minutes.
I decided I probably wasn't going to be able to do it again right now and I got up.

So that's it.... I'm frickin ecstatic though... that was the closest I've ever come to an OBE on intent alone.

Does anyone else have these mirrors? or does anyone else begin by picturing going down a path faster and faster or flying?

How do I get the rest of my body to float when my legs start floating and it seems impossible to get my head off the pillow?

Should I be happier than I've been in months that I finally almost did astral projection?
ANd wait, I need clarification........ IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN OBE AND ASTRAL PROJECTION?

For there doesn\'t seem to be a handful of people who feel the exact same way about OBE\'s, Astral projection and lucid dreaming. I for one think they are all differant and possible. Others feel that they are all just forms of lucid dreaming.
I suggest you read up on all of them and that coupled with your own experiances...make your own decision. For you will find no matter what decision you make it is ultimatly you that has to believe it to be so. Not others.

I have only had three OBE\'s and I can\'t say that I can give you a experianced opinion on your facianting experiance.
You should check into Dream Sharing as well.

I am very excited about this so it doesn't really matter to me what I call it...
In my opinion lucid dreams, astral projection, and OBE's are the same thing, just varying circumstances... for example... astral projection is usually thought of as something that is done from an awake state; lucid dreaming from a sleeping state; and OBE's tend to be thought of as pertaining to both states...
But if they are different... they are all very similar.
Either way, I've had OBE's before, but only from drug-induced states... so this is new...
to just do it through pure intent.

Another thing that I found very interesting, and I've had this happen a million times.. but being able to see the room with my eyes closed is just an amazing (something)

From more educated sources an OBE is connected and almost identical higher plane of the real time world that the soul-traveler usually explores when first conciously out of his body. The higher Astral Planes are the varying degrees of higher frequencies that the subtle (soul/mind) body transfigures into, these being increasingly abstract and mystical planes of existence. It is theorized by Robert Bruce, a prominent Australian healer and mystic that dreams and lucid dreaming fall under the same character as OBEs but on a lower plane, being far more unaware than in the out of body state.

But yes, it is in fact quite amazing. A very pleasurable experience in and of it self is the simple full trance state. I have had the misfortune of not being very disciplined when it comes to my OBE training.

On all of the OBE Websites the favorite method for extracting the Astral from the physical, once you had gotten as far as you had gotten, is to imagine climbing out on a Rope that seems to be suspended from the ceiling -- you could imagine it as descending from your Mirror. You simply imagine doing a hand over hand climb out, and it will pull your astral body out of what ever resistance is presented by the physical. Everybody quite swears on the method... indeed, once you know that, the rest of Bruce's "Astral Dynamics" might as well be scrap paper.

Personally, the ROPE method has very little use to me. I've tried it quite a few times and found my body very unreactive to its supposed "power".

First time I conciously opened my Astral Eyes was simply by focusing on a high pitch in my mind and shazam, in the Astral. Odd, it seems that all of this anticipation and research on the subject has done far more harm to me than good.
Putting a lot of pressure on yourself to get it done can really stunt progress.

Yeah, if there is some resistance to disconnecting from the physical body, people from the old school, like Bob Monroe's would probably have advised to simply concentrate on raising the pitch of the vibrations alittle bit more -- to put the Astral on a completely different frequency from the physical.

The Rope Technique is probably a good enough suggestion for separation is no mechanical problems arise, but yes, I should have anticipated that it may have been a bit simplistic.

I have read Robert A. Monreo's book, "Ultimate Journay". And to be quite frank most of it seemed out landish. At one point it seemed as if I were making some progress. Since I have read that book i have seemed to regress. :|
There seems to be a fine line to keeping it simple and getting the useful information to navigate to and through this astral plane, if you are fortunate enough to get there.

Is there anything that you have discovered from these experiances that can be construded with more solidity. Not necessarily fact or concrete evidence ( i know better)..... But some hardcore experiance that has made YOU a believer in this Astral plain?

It is not like it is in the dream state. You are in total control and your thoughts run as they normally would in the waking state. When you feel full body vibrations, it rocks you to the core. Really to me, all it took was that one experience to turn me on to the entire realm of OBE literature and theory. I was very skeptical at first, like most others until... I even looked back on my earlier posts in this forum, advocating the thought that OBE is mainly a construct of the mind, like a dream.
