issit true? I'm confused.....

ok....i'm totally confuse....telekenesis and other skills are real in real life?!?!?! I read a website when of the dreamviews forum member gave.... http://home.xtra.co.nz/hosts/Wingmakers/Contents.html And they said that these abilities are true! Are they talking about in our dream or real life? I was reading it half way and I though....BULLSHIT! If it was true....it would well be shown on discovery channel or sth...lolx....i'm really confuse...someone help?

Raven, I for one am skeptical out it being true in real life, but maybe that's just the scientist in me coming out.

I've read about and heard about paranormal things all of my life and have yet to come in contact with or read about anything that has been independently and scientifically verified.

I am open to the possibility though and will believe if shown enough proof :D

Oh no, they aren't real in any way. They just exist in the delusional childish minds of some lunatics who are so obsessed with their science-fiction movies so badly that they do not distinguish them from their real life.
The people who seem to have the ability and show it to others are just clever magicians, nothing else.
It's a rather sophisticated thing of you to not believe these kind of things until they are not proven. But, when you see a proof, you must argue with it until the science hasn't proven it. Believers in the paranormal are thinking in primitive, irrational, childish and uninformed ways.It is just as irrational to believe in paranormal as it is to believe in Santa Claus.
When you open your mind towards believing in paranormal, you might soon find yourself speculating about the existence of a tooth-fairy.

Paranormal and supernatural phenomena aren’t possible because they contradict all known natural laws gained from science.Miracles are impossible and defy everything we know about science and anatomy.

The science is always right because it uses rational thinking and only relies on the facts that are proven by others like them and can be checked by anyone. Every discovery made by science is covered on TV, so the people would know what they're dealing with. So from that we can derive that everything shown on TV is true, and if something is not resounded on it, then it just can't be true.

Raven - here's the deal:

If you had to objectively and scientifically research whether there is any verifiable, reliable and objective evidence for TK, you'll be dissapointed.
As such, the skeptic and scientist in me insists I tell you 'No, it doesn't exist'. There's just no evidence or reason to think it does :)
This part of me asks you to look at Keith Mayes' Telekinesis site

On the other hand:
I have practiced TK myself, and have had a good deal of success (after a lot of effort)
In other words, I have a subjective reason for believing in it - because I've experienced it myself. I just cannot explain the results I have had - so I'm left confused myself.

Now the problem with that is, as I said, it's my own subjective experience and evidence.
You have no reason to believe me, of course. Or believe my evaluation of my results. :)
I'd be dissappointed if you didn't say 'BULLSHIT!' :D

You've got to ask yourself a question - how important is it to you? Because the only way to find out for sure is to try it out for yourself.
And If you want to find out (in the name of exploration), it could take quite a bit of time and effort to try it out fairly.

As to the question of why there's so little objective evidence and exposure for it - I honestly have no idea. I don't pretend to know.

I have to admit that one of the problems I have with the topic is that people who are fanatics of the paranormal are often also pretty eccentric, delusional and/or immature.
It's fairly annoying actually.

There's a lot of discoveries of the past that were considered to be impossible.
And yet we live our lives in the luxury of things like electricity, flying machines, near-instance telecommunication and quantum mechanics (of which Einstein attacked as 'spooky stuff from a distance').

Do you realise that scientists and skeptics denies the existence of lucid dreaming until quite recently?
It was lumped in with other subjects of paranormal before pioneers like Stephen Laberge managed to build up sufficient evidence for it.

Someone recently told me a theory that explains all of it and it seems legitament, I have less doubt it's real now.

Usually with these things you have to convice yourself it's true before you can do it. Obviously this could mean if you practive enough and can experience it yourself, then you are simply creating the outcome you desire. This could explain Placebo why there is little evidence to support it.

Personally i do not believe in it myself, because it is currently unlikely in a scientific perspective. If it is possible, it will be accepted by scientists as part of reality. Things like quantum mechanics, flying, electricity all would have seemed impossible at one time in history. The diffemce is when they were discovered, they were tested and accepted by science. Telekenetic powers have not been, but they are discussed widely by many people. To me this says something. To me they are urban legends and fairy tales, not theories.

A lot of the 'powers' that people claim they have would probably be possible with machines and computers. Perhaps in the future we will have telekinetic watches. My point is, it may be physically possible, but probably not with the brain alone.
