Hell yeah, one of those Randi (note the 'i', please) theories where he's going to be evil and not test you because it'll "smash his own rice bowl", as you put it.Quote:

He's not going to find the one thing that will shut down his Industry. He won't smash his own Rice Bowl. He will never validate a Miracle.
But if he validates a miracle, then not only does he smash his own rice bowl but gets a shiny bigger one in return. I certainly think you'd be getting alot of money and have a great position to make more money if you're the guy that "proved some miracle to the world". You're hardly going to just fade into obscurity forever. Can you imagine the conversation? "That guy who helped turn the scientific community on it's head? Yeah, whatever."
I feel he explained why he believes Randi would not have gotten that 'shiny bigger one' :)Quote:

The question is whether it's valid
Hm, I never really bother to read Volont's posts in depth. Too many "lady oracles" and references to obscure hocky-wocky things that I'll never possibly understand in my lifetime. (Not for lack of trying, though).
No, I think he would get that shiny bigger one. Randi does happen to sort of act as a major figurehead to a whole community of people that pretty much try and hound down all these claims of psi-activity, supernatural, blah blah blah, so I think word would get to him pretty quick. Perhaps even the first person in a quick chain.
Besides, I don't think (all) supernatural phonema are patentable. Well, to be quite honest I'm not sure (the law doesn't really get too in depth about what to do if you want to patent flying pink elephants).
So, I think this excludes telekinesis - because that would be an (undiscovered) law of nature, and a whole bundle of other things that are the usual claims to Randi and Co, so he's not going to lose that rice bowl. But things like an electronic ghost detector can be patented, but since they can't be proved, then well, it doesn't really matter.Quote:
However, laws of nature, physical phenomena, and abstract ideas are not patentable.[/b]
The Sterling Hospital proved a Miracle (Prahlad Djani -- the guy that hasn't eaten, drank anything, peed or pooped in 60 years). A team of Doctors at Lourdes has certified about 40 or 50 Miracles. The Vatican has hundreds of files of Validated Miracles.Quote:

So far nobody is rolling in money.
Why? Because all it takes is a Counter-Assertion by anybody with a clipboard or a White Lab Smock -- some Randy Character -- and these Miracles are dismissed.
No matter what the Proof is, it is ignored.
Simple Policy.
You see, the Free Masons do run the World. Government Posts, Law Enforcement, University Administation Offices -- all these Departments are stuffed with Free Masons. and so NO MIRACLES means NO MIRACLES. And so far the Media has never asked a single question after some Official Critic has come out with a Denial that is no more substantial then being a mere Counter-Assertion. they come out and say "We have looked at their data and it was inconclusive". That is all they need to say, and its over. Nobody ever asks them for Proof that they have Disproved anything.
Oh no, it's easier than that. Nobody has ever heard of him before.Quote:

You lost me back at "Free mason".Quote:

Dear Kaniaz,
Well, that nobody has heard of Pralad Djani simply indicates that the World Media is also in on the Conspiracy to suppress the Truth.
And about Free Mason... look at America and Europe and their decline in Engineering and Manufacturing. It is a result of Free Masons being moved into every Department Head Slot, when they don't know how to run their offices. So the Industries suffer. In the Orient, where the Masons have yet to inflitrate, promotions are more strictly by Merit and so they are kicking the West's Ass in research and development as well as in plain and simple quality manufacturing. Look at NASA -- full of Free Masons, and they can't get a launch off anymore because the guys wearing the Rings get the Top Slots without knowing a damned thing about Rocket Science.
and it doesn't stop there. Why do you suppose the CIA doesn't know an ass from an elbow? It is because promotions aren't on the basis of Merit, but who is closest to being a 33 Degree Mason. Nobody needs to know their Job, they just have to move up in the Mason Hierarchy and the World, as little as they know about, is their Apple.
I suppose the largest Coup of the Mason was International Banking. By controlling Finance, they could set up the Media to be Mason-Friendly.
It's funny how you guys are probably say 17-19 and believe in this crap, yet I just turned 15 and I even know it's not real. What next? Please don't tell me you guys also believe in dragons, unicorns, Nessy, and other stuff like that as well.
If you can explain the whole theory in a non-boring way to me about how you harvest the energy from the earth, sun, etc. and tell me what logic lets you use it and stuff like that, I might believe you. I just don't get it.
People also say wands work by having a crystal at the end to harvest natural enery, but how does it harvest the energy, where does the energy come from, how is the energy made, and other stuff like that.
I'm not asking about wands though, I'm asking about telekinesis and stuff like that.
If it's real, explain in full detail how it works, and if you say you don't know how it works, I'll say "Because it doesn't".
hey...i'm the same age as u! :P
Actually SOBB, both Leo and I are both a lot older than you - especially Leo. Not that it matters in any event. When someone thinks they 'know it all', soon after they tend to find out how wrong they actually are. You're probably somewhere around that point IMO
Okay Placebo, think your so wise? Explain in full detail how it all works!
This may be off topic, or said already but...
Theres no point in arguing with some one who has their mind made up.They will come up with every excuse the prove you wrong. And if you they can't, then they will ask you to prove that you CAN do it.
I personally believe in some abilities like Telepathy and Precognition. But thats where it stops for me.
You have to make your own cake, or you won't find it edibleQuote:

Hell, we all have so far to go still - I'm no oracle of knowledge and wisdom :P
If you think I believe to know all the answers, I definitely don't. I just know enough that there is SOMETHING to some of this subjects (read: some, not all)
[EDIT]
PS: I'm not saying that eventually you'll believe in the paranormal, I'm saying you'll eventually see and understand new perspectives on things you thought were fixed in your mind. Just as I will, in time :)
NesGirl119, I was curious if you could tell me what month Michelle won the lottery and for what state. I would just like to check the state lottery records just to verify. But that is awesome! I'd definitely like to talk to Michelle, maybe she'd be able to help me out of my financial crisis :)
I too would also like to know how to win the lottery. It could be useful.

Well, to be honest, I don't know what the actual validity of this Lottery story is...
A quote from nesgirl's website:
The leaders told me that now there is another good reason to come to special needs, & that is to enhance my guessing skills & win a lottery(I made up the lottery part, but still ) !

I don't mean to attack your credibility, nes, but it seems we have an inconsistency...
How about just tell her to do it again? Or else everybody who ever won a lottery is a guess wizard. Really though, didn't she just pick one specific number according to nesgirl's first post? That means her mom picked five numbers!!!Quote:

No, she told her mom to pick it & she is like saying, \"Okay, I trust you if you know what you are doing!\"Quote:

BTW, that lottery part that I made up was the part that said that the Special Needs leaders were going to teach me....that is false,..Michelle is teaching me..but her mom told me the lottery thing was true..The only thing the leaders are doing are making sure we have a nice area to experiment our little fun abilities like telephone & guessing in, so we don't have do go anywhere..Quote:

Ok, I just want to understand the lottery thing. Did she tell her mom, "no don't pick that one pick another," or did she say "no don't pick that one pick number 5"? And how many numbers were on the lottery ticket? Her mom must've had a feeling about the rest of the numbers - I'm sure there's more than one number to guess on a million dollar payout - so isn't her mom extra special? It's luck, nothing more, nothing less. People have hunches all the time and sometimes they win the lottery, but it's still just dumb luck when you do.Quote:

NO!! I didn't make a heat ball! I was just starring at that fork...then a person's water bucket spills almost on the vaccum cleaner...I get stressed, & try to get the water to get away from it, but it was pretty hot while I was doing this(not my hands, the room!), & I'd say that the heat from the room severed it, b/c it severed on its own! Look into physics....it wasn't me, it was physics!
Trying something for such a long time and giving it such a hard effort makes you just the right person to claim the existance/non-existance of such things. If you tried to play the piano for ten minutes and not being able to do it, would be the right place to say that piano is actually just in the head of the player.Quote:

Guess I\'ve changed one person\'s wiev on this here.
The fact that You don't have the ability, the skill, doesn't make you the person to say that it doesn't exist, that it must be some sort of a trick.
The fact that You personally have the ability to perceive this world with only your five senses and not being able to perceive what else the world has to offer, doesn't mean that others can't. Nobody is going to take You there to convince You. Others can only show You the door, You're the one that has to pass it.Quote:

Please try and think about what you're doing, because it's just going to create a big waste of time for you. Start worrying about reality, not about spending your entire life \"seperated in your spritual body in space\", reality is what matters.
Not into caring about other people's opinions and fitting myself into the frame for everybody like me and consider me "normal", when I've proven myself otherwise.Quote:

And, as I've said in this thread....
