      The Auditory Hallucinations

When I first started experiencing these auditory hallucinations, I thought I was going insane or something. lol Later on after I did a little study I learned that it was a normal process of falling asleap, and most people don't notice them.

Now I'll get these things a coming to me whenever I have the right amount of natural tiredness. I won't be going to sleep, but I'll hear random voices like a wisper in my brain. It never makes sense, sometimes I'll get one word, somtimes phrases, I've even had it droning on several sentences a few times. It depends on how much I'm concentrating on hearing them also, I could be typing like now, and hear the word "beef" in my brain. Unless I stop what I'm doing and concentrate, its more sporadic.

When I say concentrate, I mean its more like just relaxing and just listening.
But not relaxing too much, or I will fall to sleep.

I don't think this should be in Beyond Dreaming. You'll probably get better responses somewhere else.

I took a few months to just play around with those auditory hallucinations. If you focus on them, without actually focusing, you can redirect them. For example, instead of hearing random voices, maybe one night I will want to fall asleep to a beautiful, original symphony instead. Other times, I focus it more so that I can hear strange, cryptic advice coming straight from my subconscious.

It's a really useful thing to play around with, it's a shame that people don't pay attention to it more often.

Now that you mention it, I had that myself! I thought that I was probably just imagining it. Sometimes I get sleep paralysis and things sound more clear like a girl next to a waterfall or a man laughing (which freaked me out in the morning lol) instead of faint murmurings. I didn't think that I would be able to hear it in the daytime until now, so I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I can get these when I'm very relaxed right after I wake up. For me its like having really high gain (sensitivity) on my intuition. If there's a source of white noise, like a fan or something that I can selectively amplify with my imagination, that makes it easier. If I have dream that has a particularly clear point, often I'll wake up, and the point is summarized or clarified in a few words afterwards. On some occasions the point will instead be made by something that I actually hear or see very soon after I wake up, not a hallucination.
