jk this is the real post

      --------
Ok iv been thinking about this (yes I think too) for long and hard (about 2 mins) and this is what I got:

one reason that people want to believe in kinesis is simply because its human nature to want more than what we already have, if you have a house then you want a bigger house is you buy a new car then you want another car, also there’s that old saying "money cant buy happiness" everyone’s obsessed with the way they look as well, always thinking they don’t look good enough, this is one of the reasons that people want to believe in this, simply for more power.

another reason that people want kinesis powers is because they strive for being "different" in a good way then others, having something else no one else has, this stems from the need to be wanted or needed, if we humans didn’t have this then we wouldn’t succeed as a species simply because males wouldn’t "need" the affection of females and thus make babies ()

another reason for wanting "powers" is sheer boredom and how enticing a good mystery is to us humans, (especially one that can never truly be solved) this is another emotion that comes from our very nature, we were built and programmed to solve puzzles, in nature (even only 200 years ago) we would have had to find ways to get food and how to do other things that would be impossible without a good puzzle solving ability

my last reason really just stems from all these other reasons... drug use, this makes the mind susceptible to being easily lied to
      --------
here’s a slight rundown of all my points:

1: we all want more than what’s been given to us.

2: we all want to be noticed and to be individuals.

3: some people get so bored they’d believe anything

4: being able to know something no one else does is really a good feeling.

5: some drug abusers will believe that their dead if you tell them that they are.
      ----------------------------

So you see, that is my main points of why people do this, I’m not saying they are freaks or weirdoes, just that they want something to believe in for many reasons.

I think you meant Santa...being he started the thread and listed his viewpoints. I just made a senseless interjection, however I'm flattered that I was on your mind.

Btw, I think your cute...we should chat more.

      I agree mostly.

But there could be more reasons too :-). A lot of psions have hacker mentallities - i.e., "I don't care about what I SHOULD do... I care about what CAN do."

Simply defined, hacking is the exploration of truth. Hackers are interested in what can be done and what can't be done. In this regard it is indistinguishable from science. When applied to computers hacking is the exploration of what logically can and cannot be done with digital logic systems.

Doh...peebrain I didnt know you had an account here

Anyway, santa, your theory was generally good but it is covered mostly by the psychological factors. There are many things about PSI that we dont know...we dont even know it's existence. Good job anyway.

some people get so bored they’d believe anything [/b]
Euh...that should not be included. I was bored one day...and I searched about telekinesis, that doesnt mean that I believed in it with the first sight. I followed:
      Saw---->experimented for a year----->result.
I followed this plan even if I was bored.
If you are curious about the result...then it was true. My practice showed its existence...I know I might be false.

we all want to be noticed and to be individuals[/b]
Very good point especially at ages of youngsted.

One thing I do not understand, is why some people just randomly (it seems) pick something to argue about. Do you know (or even bother to look) at how many threads have been started on PSI abilities? It's not my problem, of course, if some people like to argue for no apparent reason... I won't lie, I like to argue a lot too, but this is rediculous... it's like running around in circles. You get nowhere by doing it. Well sure, one could argue that you get in shape, but that doesn't mean a damned thing...

You cannot, let me repeat myself, CANNOT argue that something is real by saying, "Well, you know what, this is real, and I think it is so it must be real, and you know they had a vote that said 90% of these people think its real, and majority rules so it must be real..." and you can't say, "It's real, so don't argue with me."

So the point I'm trying to get across is, don't argue about something you don't know a god damned thing about, it just frustrates a lot of people. And another thing, don't believe everything you hear on the internet. Because I can say that I am a blood relative of George Washington, and I can give you all kinds of information about Washington that *supposedly* proves that I'm a relative of him, some will beleve me b/c they believe everything I say, but some of you won't believe me because I was using this as an example and it is BS. I can also say that I'm some sexy 28 year old supermodel... but that's BS... lol

Basically, guys (and girls), if you're gonna argue about something, do it properly.

you know whats really funny? when people actually believe that they did something like kenesis. now, i'm no neuroligical scientist or anything and i don't know what exact abilities God has given us. but, i don't think anyone has of yet done kenesis. the funniest by far is the psi ball. want a good read, type in psi ball in google. people have tutorials on how to do them. they are so un detailed its funny.. they say "you might fel sensations of hot, cold, vibrations, loss of gravity ect." they also say that you can't see the psi ball, you just know its there. its great i tell you. and did you ever realise the kenesis 'using' people can never move anything bigger then a pencil. and with that they can only roll it. whats the use? are you really that lazy in class to where you will use you mind to roll the pencil to you? you know, one day someone might actually do this, and no ones going to beleave him lol
and when he gets to heaven, to saint peter he will tell. "one more soldier reporting sir. i've served my time in hell"

err... I wasnt trying to prove or disprove its existence, I was just showing why people want to believe in it even with the lack of proof

What's wrong with this? Is it a bad thing to develop yourself and practice your abilities?
So if you weren't born to have the abilities to read and write, why did you develop these skills?
We are given what we have asked for. <!--QuoteBegin-SantaDreamsToo

3: some people get so bored they’d believe anything
There have been so many threads with \"TK is real\" and \"TK is not real\", so why do we need another? Has there been a poll something for the practicioners to express their opinion if they got into practicing out of boredom or where did you get this information?

So you're telling that TK-practicioners are really drug-addicts and junkies? I know that most of them are really living in a healthier way than other people and they are against any use of drugs. <!--QuoteBegin-SantaDreamsToo

2: we all want to be noticed and to be individuals.
How did You come up with these points anyway? If they are your own personal ideas why You want or do not want to have the "kinesis"-abilities, then You can't speak for all those people, claiming them to be the facts "why people do "kinesis"". The topic should be renamed "Why I do / do not do "kinesis"".
