Why it is (almost) impossible to prove astral projection is "real" by doing test

Astral projection is not considered to be a real way to prove there is life after death because most people think it is the spirit leaving the body and can explore the physical world. But that is not the case. You are not exploring the physical world what you are exploring is the 'Real time double' it is just a reflection of what is happening in the physical world but it is NOT the physical world its self. The astral realm just like a dream is controlled by the power of thought. Because it is controlled by the power of thought this will make it hard to prove astral projection as a real thing. Let me give you an example why. Lets say you can astral project and want to go to Area 51 to see it has aliens so you pop out of you body and *will* yourself to go there and you SEE aliens. Most likely there are no aliens there at all and its even more likely that your not even at Area 51. Let me explain why. Like I said the astral realm is controlled by thought. If you don't know what Area 51 even looks like you will end going to what you THINK it looks like. And if you were EXPECTING aliens to be there you will see the aliens. Those aliens were created by your expectation and the world you ended up was created by YOU. At this point you have accidentally shifted out of the "real time double" into your own astral world of your own.

Now knowing that the astral realm is affected by thoughts you can easily cause the reality to shift with the wrong thought. So under a testing environment and the scientist want you to astral project to see a number on the other side of a room. So you pop out of the body and go to the other side of the room and you look at the number. If you are not completely in control of your thoughts and have already made a guess of what the number could be then the number you say to the scientist when you go back to your body will most likely be wrong. In order to get accurate results the astral projector must be in complete control of the mind or else cause the world to shift. The astral projector must be in a state of 'not caring' for what the number would be on the wall.

This is why I believe that it is near impossible to prove astral projection to be legit. It is very easy to cause reality to shift if one is not in control of their thoughts. Thank you for reading and once again I am not saying this is THE TRUTH this is just what I have concluded based on my research into this. I urge you all to come up with your own conclusions. It is ok to be a skeptic about things like this but at least have an open mind to it.

Astral projection aside laws of thermo dynamics state that energy can not be recreated or destroyed how ever energy can switch form. Everything about u is energy please keep that in mind when u contemplate life after death. Namaste.

I've always wondered,if it was real, for example while AP-ing , if you said "I want to go to mars" ,and it was a cloudy night or you couldn't see mars, how could you go there without knowing which direction it is, unless there was some other source guiding you, that's why I think these locations you go to, are just made up in your mind. I wish I was wrong,but I don't think so. Anyone have an opinion on my logic ?

Great post, you have a point. Our understanding of this world is completely different however we have similar thoughts about how will such experiment work.

I am going to do such an experiment at home, I believe it is possible, however I believe it is very hard. Even I am an advanced lucid dreamer and I will have no problems doing OBE and walking into next room in my every dream, I will face another problem. Something similar to what you wrote, first of all I already did similar experiment with clock but that was only the beginning and I believe it is not really hard to stop thinking about some number in advance. Would it be random number generator, paper with number, cards.. inject the idea that all of them are blank unless you come and focus your vision on them, that might be one of the solutions to stop thinking of an answer in advance, but I can be wrong.

The main problem would be that you will see a different number, nobody knows the real reason, everybody has his own explanation and I have my own. I did similar experiment in dream sharing and I got different number with my friend, did similar experiment with clock and most of the time I got different time. At least we agree on a point that number will be different in most cases.

To succeed in such experiment we need to understand how can we actually dream in your case "In our physical world", in my case in our "home reality". And this is the biggest problem, to which I am looking a solution for.

I do think it is possible to have 'visual' information of the physical world without seeing by focusing light, even though I have no idea how that works. But I agree that this is usually only at best a weak part of what is going on during astral projection.

I'm not sure I believe in astral projection. I don't disbelieve in it either.. but to me it just seems like another way of dreaming. Then again I haven't experienced AP or LD so maybe I wouldn't know the difference.

There was an experiment on DV that was set up by a member.
She put certain object in a box. Took a photograph of the closed box, and asked members to see what was inside.
I got exact hits each time I tried. I did not go astral, or obtain the information in a dream.
The conclusions I came to were not conclusive.

A. I can see objects in closed boxes, thousands of miles away in a country I have never visited.
B. The DV member just agreed with my predictions.
C. Some other entity passed the information to me through an unknown medium.
D. The DV member is psychic, and can project information into other peoples minds

The list can go on, and on. No conclusion will be the right one.
And this was supposed to be a controlled experiment.
So even if you attain an oob state, the conclusions that can be determined by your experience will be varied.

Occams razor tends to put dampeners on many theories.

'A' seems unlikely to me, almost by definition of what you mean by 'I' and 'see', though to some extent this is semantics.
'B' can be eliminated if she tells you what was in the box before you share your guess. Then it doesn't prove it to a third party, but it proves it to you. That's how I do many of my experiments.
'C' assumes something like a wavelike signal being passed. I don't think that's the right paradigm because it only fits a subset of such experiences, excluding the precognitive ones for instance. I think the 'unknown entity' thought is also ill fit to what we experience, though with an element of truth that's almost by definition.
'D' also contains an element of truth in my view. She has suffered, and is a bit crazy, bless her, but with an intelligence that is conducive to this sort of thing. And the craziness is partially by choice also, consciously sacrificing one kind of mental capability for another, preferred kind. Thank God we aren't all exactly the same.

Yes its hard to sort out, but not completely hopeless. With time and effort some of the hypotheses can be improved or eliminated. Many things worth doing are hard and take years to see definite progress.

TiredPhil, what you're describing sounds like remote viewing. There's been an in depth study performed on this if you, or anyone else, is interested. Just google search "CIA Stanford Research Institute Stargate Project." I would look for the PDF file on the government link that should show up so you can read about the declassified document from a legit source. Not that other sources aren't legit, but to see the U.S. government acknowledge and confirm psi phenomena is pretty cool.

As it stands right now AP is not falsifiable, and so cannot be subject to the scientific method and honestly goes beyond the interests of what science tries to explain. Keeping an eye on the phenomenon, paying attention to new data and information we receive, and possibly new technology that could lead us to be able to test for it one day may change this in the future, and hopefully it does.
