Hopefully you're not asking in some consideration of committing suicide. :S
Personally...I don't really believe in afterlife. Not 100% anyway-- its certainly a possibility, but if there is an afterlife, I HIGHLY doubt there's a heaven or hell.
Perhaps in your last minutes, your mind goes through hyperdrive, and you experience a vast amount of time in an instant. Some people believe there'ss a release of DMT upon death, a psychedelic which is know to produce intense feelings of time dilation and otherwordly existences that last lifetimes, so that could make some since. Just like with taking psychedelics in real life, that psychedelic experience would depend on your state of mind, and in this case specifically, it would depend on the way in which you died.
If you died happily in bed surrounded by family, you would have a good death-- a good trip, so to speak. You'd probably experience a heaven like "afterlife" filled with friends and family members who had died, perhaps some other positive beings. If you die by committing suicide (where I would assume one was horribly depressed or angry, etc) then that hallucinatory experience is going to be hellish, filled with regrets, anger, enemies, and inner demons.
If I believed in the actual afterlife, then I don't think it would make a difference. No matter how you died, your soul would simply be released from its mortal coil and into the next world/plane of existence. Perhaps the state of mind would play into effect here as well. or perhaps not. Either way, your attitude and mood dictates how you perceive your reality (regardless of what that reality is).
Edit: And if you believe in reincarnation, supposedly what you become in the next life is dictated by your experience/actions in this life. Again, anyone committing suicide probably isn't in this best place in life, and so would likely reincarnate into a lesser being. (Insects, worm, dung beetle. i dunno )
