      Suicide and the afterlife

I just wanna know what happens to people in the afterlife when they commit suicide. I know no one can tell for sure, but you must have some ideas I guess. Is there a difference in the afterlife to someone who commits suicide due depression or a suicide terrorist? Do you think those people would go to hell or just reincarnate into someone else, I just wanna know :/

Hopefully you're not asking in some consideration of committing suicide. :S

Personally...I don't really believe in afterlife. Not 100% anyway-- its certainly a possibility, but if there is an afterlife, I HIGHLY doubt there's a heaven or hell.

Perhaps in your last minutes, your mind goes through hyperdrive, and you experience a vast amount of time in an instant. Some people believe there'ss a release of DMT upon death, a psychedelic which is know to produce intense feelings of time dilation and otherwordly existences that last lifetimes, so that could make some since. Just like with taking psychedelics in real life, that psychedelic experience would depend on your state of mind, and in this case specifically, it would depend on the way in which you died.

If you died happily in bed surrounded by family, you would have a good death-- a good trip, so to speak. You'd probably experience a heaven like "afterlife" filled with friends and family members who had died, perhaps some other positive beings. If you die by committing suicide (where I would assume one was horribly depressed or angry, etc) then that hallucinatory experience is going to be hellish, filled with regrets, anger, enemies, and inner demons.

If I believed in the actual afterlife, then I don't think it would make a difference. No matter how you died, your soul would simply be released from its mortal coil and into the next world/plane of existence. Perhaps the state of mind would play into effect here as well. or perhaps not. Either way, your attitude and mood dictates how you perceive your reality (regardless of what that reality is).

Edit: And if you believe in reincarnation, supposedly what you become in the next life is dictated by your experience/actions in this life. Again, anyone committing suicide probably isn't in this best place in life, and so would likely reincarnate into a lesser being. (Insects, worm, dung beetle. i dunno )

      Dear Crashy

Lobsang Ramper wrote a book on what happens when you suicide. I read it when I was 10, I had done my best to kill myself at 7 and 9.

But wjen I read what Lobsang wrote I gave up on trying to kill myself.

Lobsang said that we make a contract before we get born. We chose our mum and dad and all the important lessons we want to learn.

When we break that contract and kill ourself we don't get a holiday. We go to a hospital yo recover from lifes shocks than asked to pick a new mum and dad and we are sent back here to finish oir contract.

Conditions may not be quite as peachy as the more planned out previous life. If we killed ourself 50 YEARS befor we planned to come home then we live 50 years.

Of we only had a few hours to go before are planned depature then we will die a few hours after birth when sent back to finish our contract.

Then when the contract is finished are we got what we planned to get out of living here then we get a lovely 200+ year holiday on the other side before carefully planning our next incarnaton, in better circumstances, to learn new lessons in a high grade of school, somewhere in tje vast material universe.

I believe you don't have to reincarnate unless you WANT too. I believe the afterlife is the place of ultimate freedom where you can visit the many different worlds that exist in the other planes. And if you do reincarnate it probably doesn't have to be on EARTH per se, you could reincarnate in an alternate reality or something. There's no way this world is the only place you can incarnate too. I believe that when you kill yourself you go to where you THINK you will go. Basically belief system territories. Christians go to a heavenly place, people that think they should go to hell go to hell. Buddhist will most likely reincarnate because that is their belief, same with Hindus. Etc. If you kill yourself but cling to things you like in the earth realm you stay there until you can let things go. I am sure there is a heaven like place and a hellish place. And billions others. I don't believe in eternal damnation, if you get stuck into a hellish world you stay there until you desire to better yourself and seek a better way of life. This is just my little opinion

      Dear Crashyy

This is the story that helped me heeps. It was published in 1977 but Lobsang wrote about suicide (briefly) in some of his earlier books. But he got letters from readers asking about suicide and finaly dedicated a whole book to the very important subject matter.

I found a free download and now I will slowly type it out for me and you.

I BELIEVE (By T. Lobsang Ramper)

Here is the link to the free pdf:

i believe lobsang rampa - Google Search

And here is the link to the thread where I am copying it out:
