I've always had an agnostic view to thing pertaining to and including Astral Projection, and I thought I might try it. I decided it would be best if I start small, so in the shower I tried some simple awareness exercises. I stared at the same spot, and after 30 or so seconds the walls either side of me seemed to bend forward near the top slightly, so it felt a bit as if I was standing beneath an arc. Soon the vision in my right eye began to haze. I soon lost this however so I tried again. On my second attempt I noticed the shadow cast by the top of the wall was inverted as to how I noticed it before! It was slanting in the opposite direction now. With persistence, the haze returned. I could see the steam curling over the top of the wall, but it was not in my line of sight. But it wasn't like looking at it, neither entirely as if knowing it was there, and certainly not feeling it. It was like detecting that it was there. When I thought of trying this sort of thing, I wasn't aware that extrasensory phenomena were a package deal. It was very interesting and I will change my current objective for the next few weeks from OBE's to Extrasensory awareness. I justify this because I think that awareness is a fairly bread and butter skill, kind of like stabilizing or reality checks with lucid dreaming.
