induction technique based on buhlman and faith

I didn't start this thread to start a fight please no arguing.
I'm gonna try setting my alarm for 3 hours of sleep.
Get up and move to my comfy gaming chair.
Think about my affirmations if possible for 15 minutes.
Which are related to verses in the bible.
Drift off to sleep and hopefully have an obe.
Feel free to lock this if necessary...

I'm also kinda using Buhlman's technique. Are you also using affirmations, like "now I'm out of body"?

And I'm sure you know, you don't need REM to OBE. The night time/early morning attempts are used, because that's when bodies are relaxed, and not because of the REM. So anytime you feel like you will fall asleep it's a good time to OBE. Good luck

I read that and I thought about saying to myself that I will have clarity now like he did in one of his journals. I think I'll read the affirmations and pick some out along with verses from the bible. Thanks gab. Good luck to you too!

      1. When I lay down, I start with imagining a dome of while light around me that's filled with devine light of protection and love.

      2. Then I say "Only entities with my or above my level of development may be he [present, helping...]" This is to send away/not attract any entities from lower astral plaines.

      3. Then when I feel like it, I try to establish continuous energy flow. In through my feet, out top of my head, circle around and in through feet again. I can't feel the energy yet, but I'm sure with some practice I might.

      4. Now I start with affirmations "Now! I'm out of body" while imagining myself separating and floating upwards with every exhale. And later from the perspective of just above my sleeping body, as if I was my astral body already separated, hovering.

I repeat this until I fall asleep. Until I read this from buhlman, I thought you project at the same time as you fall asleep, just as at WILDs. Now I understand, I have to fall asleep and then I will notice some symptoms, become aware and project. And this actually happened to me. I became aware and I was alsready floating above my bed. That was fun.

      5. On occasion I throw in "Awareness now" and "Clarity now", just so I don't forget to start saying it as soon as I project.

Oh yeah, and I do this on sofa during daytime.

I'm kinda lazy when it comes to what you said about the light and energy but maybe I'll try that tonight.

good luck guys. i've been unsuccessful with everything except WBTB so i've stuck with that method. i think if i dedicated myself to doing more energy work i would have an easier time. i haven't yet been able to activate my chakras manually but i definitely feel them right before and after an OBE. the other night when it was over i could feel the one in the center of my back still vibrating like crazy. i'm getting some acupuncture work done tomorrow and hopefully that will help as well.

Just woke up from a nap, during which I kept falling asleep (or getting close to) and being snapped out of it by my cat. Each time I woke up, my vibrations were stronger. They started in my lower torso and thighs. I mentally tried to make them stronger and have them spread. Last time I woke up, I was vibrating all over, mostly in my jaw and face.

It's awesome, how you can make things happen just by thinking about it and setting an intent.

Cool gab. That reminds me of a feeling i related to in another post about my jaw hurting when i woke up but i checked it and it didn't really hurt after i woke up but could it have been vibrations or i might have slept on it strangely. Might you know?

Try and notice next time. The more you think about it, more they will come and more you will notice. I think, all of the progress I made as of late, is from me just thinking about stuff and reading about it. When you think about it, stuff starts to happen. At least for me.

I'm leaning towards vibrations, but only you can know for sure.

nice gab! sounds like progress to me. i had an interesting DILD last night that didn't cause vibrations where normally as soon as i become aware of the dream that triggers it. i have a strange feeling my guide pulled me out of the dream purposefully after i was ahem...distracted by another character. kind of like telling me no..you're not here to waste time, get control of your thoughts.

Sounds kinda like what Buhlman said in the journal entry I read about in his book.

Gab, that is a very interesting method!

Recently while on vacation I stumbled across a similar technique related to meditation. As I was laying in bed pre-sleep, I evoked within myself love and unity much like you were saying. The energy rises from the midsection, exits the head and seems to repeat in waves.
During meditation I have been practicing this and finally was able to actually feel the energy. For me, I can summon the energy without effort. Its like pulling yourself into a dream, but pulling a feeling instead. Im not sure exactly how to describe the experience.
Attempting that in correlation with breathing helps tremendously.

Once I created this energy, it was as if it produced its own field of a sort, and I could feel this extremely brilliant yet subtle vibration. At that point I spoke affirmations about recalling my dreams and being aware while sleeping.
That night, I had the best recall I have had in a while. By best I mean the clarity was amazing. I can usually recall a number of dreams in one night but with low clarity. This time however, the dreams were crystal clear.

So I think we are definitely onto something, and I look forward to more experiments!

I got it from Buhlman and it really resonates with me. Haha, pun intended. It feels so natural.

Yes, I have heard about meditating on love or feelings of "surrender' as in surrendering to the experience without judging. I have tried it both, but I'm yet to see any results. But then again, I'm not very good at meditating. It's one of my goals, though.

I agree, if you couple your mantras with breathing, especially if mantra is rhyming, oh boy. Once I got an experience from it, I will never forget. Among other things, my inner body had separated and turned sideways while still inside of me. It blew my mind. Then I felt it squirmed and trying to make a break for it.

Good job on feeling the energy. I'm yet to feel it, but I understand it takes practice.

      Good luck to all.

I'm liking what Buhlman said about repetition. Half hearted attempts bring half hearted results. We must be willing to make a full emotional and intellectual commitment to this exploration. According to Buhlman.

I didn't mean to say our attempts are half hearted if any of you took it that way. I take it as inspiration for me at least.

I didn't get a chance to try what I was gonna do last night. I should be able to tonight. Good luck everyone!

Just woke up from a noon nap. Had to do it on my bed, because my cats took over my "traveling sofa". As soon as I sat in the bed, one cat jumped to me and kept fidgeting for a long time. Needles to say, that didn't help me to fall asleep.

But I did get vibrations, this time they started in upper torso and I was quite pleased.

nice. i'm actually going to take a break on the WBTB routine. i'm somewhat of an insomniac as it is and it really affects the rest of my sleep if i get up and start thinking too much. just got done with my acupuncture appointment as well and i don't believe it's going to make a bit of difference in my energy work lol. i didn't realize it was so focused on physical body.

I didn't have an obe last night but I did wake up before 3 hours of sleep. I woke up from a dream in which I don't remember all of but I remember thinking of the name Philiemon or something like that which an author I don't remember who's name dreamed about and he was like his guide or something.

It's usefull to set your intent not only to have an OBE, but to remember it.

I took a nap and in the dream I became lucid. i thought it was reality but it wasn't... Anyway in the dream I was beginning to have vibrations, pretty violently. I'm gonna take that as a sign to try and go obe from a lucid dream and I'm gonna try to have intent next time.

definitely a sign oneiroer. for me if i get real strong vibrations it's pretty much effortless to float out at that point just by thinking about it. if you are lucid in a dream you can always just fly straight up and out too. most likely your vision will fade to black as you exit the dream and then it should come back in a moment....then just stay calm!!!! (exclamation points should help stay calm

Thanks Runeword I'll try that. I have a question for you. I was inexperienced at the time and still am... but I think I tried flying out of the dream in a nightmare a long time ago. Here's basically what happened. I flew up in a neighborhood in a dream and I got caught up in a bed and had a hard time getting out of the sheets... But when I finally did I just went to another dreamscape. How do you fly out of a dream without going into another dream? Just practice?

hmm i dunno oneiroer for me that's just what usually happens or i guess i have had some false awakenings happen too. once you get lucid in the dream just make the decision to go out of body and then just fly straight up as fast as you can. my guess is that it's mostly to do with your intentions cause i know some people can clear the dreamscape away just by continually calling for "clarity now". for me it just feels natural to just fly out maybe cause of the upward and out motion. usually what happens though is once i become lucid my chakras are all activated and vibrating, dream will fade to black, then i just lift out and wait for my vision to come back in the energy body or sometimes i'll have to specifically demand it. "i see with my energy eyes now" or "i see perfectly now". you need to be specific about what you actually need help with. usually for me it's vision that i have to get help with. sometimes i'll go out and be blind just trying to move around blind for awhile or even just partial vision. one time i popped out and it was like someone had their hand over the top half of my eyes. you get some odd stuff that happens but just remember to be specific about what you need help with and it will come. a few nights ago i woke into this really strange false awakening and did a reality check by plugging my nose and trying to breathe. breath comes just fine so instantly i'm lucid but kind of low powered or something. was struggling a little to get all the way out even with strong vibrations. completely blind and i'm only just barely out so i call out for help and raise my hand up and immediately another hand grabs mine and just pulls me out easily. just remember help is always there when you need it.

Thanks for the info Runeword. I'll try all you said. I have confidence I can achieve this now. I'm reading Buhlman's Adventure's Beyond The Body more closely from the beginning too. This may sound strange but I read in a beginner book a while back that sometimes your double can manifest to people. I'm not sure I want that even though I'm not going to stalk anybody if I achieve this. I just want to explore. I think it might be a fear that could ruin my attempts. Any thoughts on this?

i've heard of people being able to sense the presence or yes even sometimes see another person's "double" as you put it. i've read that pets are especially sensitive to that. i don't have any experience with it though personally. i was thinking about your comment i responded to earlier about flying out of a dream into another dreamscape and depending on how much of your awareness you're able to sustain i think it would be really easy to slip back into a dream experience. it could also be that when you flew out of the dream into another dreamscape that you were actually OOB and just didn't realize it. it's really hard to say but at the end you are the only one that really knows for sure. for me when i am transitioning into a new energy body my vision fades out first. i've never gone straight from a dream with full sense of sight into an OOB but maybe that's just me.

My initial experiences were part of my spiritual life as a pentecostal christian. That particular tradition is extremely experience oriented so it gave me a considerable amount of time to explore spiritual experiences.
For 8 months now, I have been meditating and studied under a relatively skilled teacher for a month or so before he realized I wouldn't become a disciple of his late master. While I was there he taught me a meditation called the smile. He told me to imagine a small child and how joyful they can become. Then feel that in your own face. Its unnecessary to act like the child, although that could be fun. Feeling it in the heart is the important part.
When we did this practice, it released that energy and it was amazing.

The lesson that should be taken from this is this: Memories are key to unlocking energy. Just last week I watched a harry potter movie in which harry potter learns the Patronus spell. He is told to use a positive memory to produce the spell. In X men First Class, Dr. Xavier tells Magneto to find that place between rage and serenity after accessing a memory to produce the feeling of serenity. Actors learn to use memory to produce emotions. That same technique can be used to produce any energy.

That is how I have accessed that energy again. It can be difficult to maintain at first and sometimes I can only feel bursts. After a while, one could very well master that energy. And that would be awesome.
