      Strange LD experience

had a strange false awakening/ semi LD experience last night. i "woke up" in bed as just a consciousness, unknown name, no identity at all. i literally had no memory of who i was or whose body this disembodied consciousness was supposed to occupy. i remember demanding in my mind "take me to my body now!" several times. really strange experience. anyone else experienced something like this during an LD or OBE?

Not quite like that but I had a false awakening which affected my waking life. Maybe it was that or maybe it was all the legal drugs the hospital put me on...(was in a hospital a long time ago but am mostly better now) I'm not gonna talk much more about this cause I don't want to sound too crazy...Hope I didn't ruin your thread... Did anything happen after you demanded take me to your body now?

This has happened to me a few times, almost in exactly the same way (once I had to go find my body -- or at least what looked mostly like it -- and fight my way back in).

I'm not sure though, that this can happen and that you can be lucid at the same time, since lucidity by definition is "self-awareness." So, if that awareness is present, you'll remember who and where you are, even if your body's been misplaced (per my example above).

I have also woken up many times completely unaware for a moment of who I am or where I was, though I'm not sure this is what you had in mind.

yeah sageous this sounds similar although i didn't have to fight back in. i guess the reason i defined it as semi lucid is because i had the awareness to make the demand "take me to my body now!" and because overall it was not a passive experience like most of my nonlucid dreams. i knew what was going on and was in control but i didn't know who i was or what body belonged to me or where to go to even find my body. amnesia i guess would most closely define the experience. i've had a few experiences like this also in my life where i've been fully awake. i'm only 32 and this has got me pondering what it's really like for old people that go senile...it must be really confusing and frustrating.
