I don't remember it was so long ago. I just remember getting all the tests and then sitting in a consultation room with just me, my mum and some specialist (of what I don't remember) who went on to say and I quote again they were "mystified" and said the closest things to match my symptoms was epilepsy and I may just have some type of epilepsy nobody else has. Instead of making sure they sent me on my way home when I turned down medication.
Now that I think back on it, I wonder if they didn't believe me and just wanted to entertain us both with some tests because my mum was there and demanding answers? It almost sounds like a mocking diagnosis.

By the way, sleep paralysis gets much less frequent as you get older.
Yeah, I'm not bothered by it any more though so it wouldn't matter to me if it never eased up (but it would be nice). Just had one last night, broke out, rolled over and went back to sleep. Pretty standard part of a night's sleep now.
I agree I'm starting to get that impression but not just with mental illness. I have friend with a physical illness and the doctors just don't know precisely what's wrong with him, but he feels like a human lab rat. "Try this, now try that, see what happens because we have no idea." Some nasty side effects I won't get too much into, both mental and physical, and they have a guess-diagnosis they're not quite sure of but they don't seem to be doing any testing on that thing or offering any real medical advice or communication. They don't seem to be in a hurry to do any other testing aside from the odd blood sample. Seriously no joke it sounds like drug testing on a human subject in a disguised form.
No wonder he stopped going, and weaned him off the drugs that could have killed him if he stopped suddenly.
Sorry for the rant... I'm just a mix between angry and worried about my friend.
