An idea how to find out if shared lucid dreaming is possible

So just a minute ago when i was listening to relaxing spa music i was thinking about shared lucid dreaming and all the benefits it could give to all of us. I have read here that some of you experienced people have already had shared lucid dream experiences and the rest of us just keep thinking "there is no way that is possible/that has happened" between two dreamers. They would have to had slept at the exactly same R.E.M period time to meet each other in the dream.

So the idea follows: What if ALL of us , whenever we achieve lucidity in the dream, go in some part of the lucid dream to a famous land mark such as Stonehenge and wait there for a while if another lucid dreamer comes by? Then if they come by , you give them yours and they give their Dreamviews/any other website username or something you could use to connect to them in reality. After this you give them a message within the dream and find out the next day if they received it. This way the R.E.M period or time zones doesn't apply if people all around the world try this every time they gain lucidity often enough. So, how does this sound? I know, it's just a sudden thought but this could be a choice.

The International Oneironaut Shared Dreaming Project/ is experimenting with a similar technique, using a beacon to invite other dreamers to their location. If you're interested, you might want to join.

Haven't experienced it personally, but i don't think you can do that intentionally with random people, since from what i know you need to have strong connection to a person to share dream with. :-?

People claim million things about it, it's hard to know what's true or not. For example, I've read about some scientific studies about shared dreaming that showed some positive results and the component of "knowing the other person" was not even mentioned. I think until we start to test it systematically, we're going to swim around many versions of this concept..

OP, I'ma try to find the study reference, should be interesting to analyse.

Yup this method is what most users around here use as far as I know. We even tried it for a while but I never got into it.

i had a few dreams, where i went somewhere and waited for another dreamer to come by, so far i did, and usually it's not intentional it just happens and i figure it out after i wake up. And yes it's with someone i dream about/with constantly.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
Stonehenge is already a mystical place surrounded by myth, and superstition.
I think it is the perfect place to meet.
Might be a good idea to start a fresh thread titled " Meeting at Stonehenge " or something like that.
This was not originally my idea, so I will let somebody else start the page.
Any opinions for, or against would be useful.

This experiment we had in IOSDP last year is not close to your idea, but we tried to meet at Stonehenge when we were all lucid during 'daydreaming'. (it's funny that you mentioned Stonehenge lol) I guess meeting a stranger does count as your idea - I knew his ID on DV, but never knew how he looked like, and then I saw him when I was daydreaming. He saw the other person too who he never seen her face before.
The result is in page 3. It was successful :)

Before I was aware that Lucid Dreaming and Sleep Paralysis had names, I had an episode of sleep paralysis, where I saw a shadow hovering over me, it was as if half the thing was peeking trough the wall of my headboard to look in to the room next to me which happened to be someone else's room, I fought to try to move till I started in my mind telling the shadow to go away, it finally crossed to the other room and I was able to move and fully wake up, in the morning, I spoke to the person in the other room, and he was telling me about an experience he had in the middle of the night, where he felt something come from where my room was and hold him down, and he struggled to wake up.
I think this was somehow some kind of shared dream, we both had issues with sleep paralysis whithout even knowing what it was, and I think somehow we connected the dream stage...
