Changing the Physical Self through Lucid Dreaming?

I'm wondering, have any of you explored changing the physical self through lucid dreaming? Do you believe it's possible?

I have just finished the book called "Mind Over Medicine". While the book has nothing to do with lucid dreaming, it delves deeply into the research, first and second-handed accounts, etc., of people who were able to heal themselves of often fatal illnesses because they believed they could be healed. She gets into the research about how our mind affects the body, and when patients were able to alter their thought processes, they were able to utilize their brain as a tool for healing. Some healed themselves of cancers, ALS, depression, insomnia.. While others, who were misdiagnosed and thought they were going to die, died (despite not finding a COD once the autopsy was performed). One story sticks in my head of a patient who had split personality disorder. All of the personalities except for one had diabetes. The one personality could drink sugary drinks, and be absolutely fine. The rest would break out in welts, suffer insulin shocks, and whatever happens when a diabetic eats sugary foods.

Now, being an aspiring regular lucid-dreamer, this obviously became of interest. I full-heartedly believe that the brain is capable of seemingly impossible feats, if we knew how to channel it. And, after all, how much more in touch with your brain can you be, than when you're in a lucid dream? What if you were to 'direct' your brain to do something, watch it unfold in a dream.. It seems the mental suggestion would be bound to stick.
This made me wonder.. Has anyone tried/been able to heal themselves, or change their physical self directly via lucid dreaming? Even eye color, hair color, height, etc.?

I figure that there is no harm in trying to positively change one's body through mind over matter. For it to work, if it works, one would really need to believe it. I would however strongly suggest that this not be one's only medical practice if there are other more scientifically proven methods available, thus if one were a diabetic and used mind over matter in addition to other more traditional treatments, if it works, then the next doctor's follow up will hopefully reveal that. If it does not, then at least you did not put all your eggs into one basket. If one has an illness for which there are no scientifically proven cures though, then surely exploring mind over matter is a great idea because one has a life to gain and not much to lose, right?
You may say I'm a dreamer.

I believe you can heal - but it's a long story.

I believe you can practice on theoretical and technical part of movements in martial arts. I am doing martial arts, and i often practice in my Lucid Dreams. Sometimes when i feel like i found something new, some new movements that i like, or when i feel like i improved in one of my techniques i might wake up and try it awake. In the morning i feel much more confident doing those skills that i practiced in my dream.

As for the muscles and physical power i think you cannot improve those while sleeping

Here is a tread you may find interesing. I don't know though, if it would work. http://www.dreamviews.com/beyond-dre...cid-dream.html

And I can recommend book Gateway to inner self by Robert Waggoner. He mentions healing his friends in lucid dream. It's also great book about self exploration in lucids.

healing the physical, I want to say it's possible..because thinking if everything was energy based then we can definitely gather the necessary energy to change what we want. but then again...in the physical we destroy our muscle so it can grow back stronger...sooo...maybe you have to destroy some of your energy or rearrange it? idk sounds risky now that I think about it..or not possible lol.

oh I couldn't edit my last post so i'll just double post...but I just remembered something i wanted to try, why don't we train our brain to boost the metabolism? there's this thing called the "afterburn effect" (there are alot of names for it) but it raises your metabolism by a insane amount. if we could train our brain to activate that and do it at will, then we could lose weight without doing jack. hehe i could eat fried chicken like there's no tomorrow and digest it by the end of the day hahaha. but then if that goes out of control, we would probably lose a lot of energy..so another risk I think...anyways yeah i just remembered so i wanted to post.
