Healing others through dreams

Hi all! I'm currently studying herbal medicine at university and will probably open up a practice at some point in the future to take patients.

I had an idea the other day, that maybe when I have my practice i could offer some kind of healing through dreams, this is assuming that I have improved my dreams abilities and have lucid dreams every night.

Just wanted to see if you guys out there think it's possible first of all, and if so how it could be done.

From where I'm thinking right now I'm thinking in terms of sharing dreams, and what I've read around the forum about shared dreaming, I understand that everyone seems to have their own dream plane but that there is also a public dream plane, and that I may need to have the permission from the person (an invitation) to enter their dreams. i do however have no experience in this and could be completely wrong.

If not through shared dreaming, would healing people from my own dream plane for example be possible?

What are your thoughts? I'm open to any and all suggestions and explanations that you all may have.

This is something that I am very interested in as well. I have no definitive proof, obviously, but I do hope that it is possible. There is one case where a friend of mine was diagnosed with a very rare lung disease, which was attributed to her smoking when she was very young. I meditated on healing her before I went to bed and then I had a dream where I reached into her lungs and they were illuminated with light. I then pulled some weird shit out of her lungs. One week later, the doctors said that the disease was into remission. Clearly, this was most likely just wishful thinking, but I still like to believe that there is a way to heal people from a distance through some kind of P2C2E.

I hope that there are some people that will post here with great insight into this topic.

I think one issue with this is the need of the doctor to insulate themselves psychologically from their patients. I'm not saying that doctors shouldn't feel and care about their patients, but if you work in an emergency room, for instance, the emotional flood is a lot to deal with. Intentionally being in your patients dreams would likely be a bit much. I know two doctors who lucid dream who have this problem. The 'dream plane' isn't just a place that you go in your sensate imagination, its rooted in and generated from your emotion. If you cultivate that kind of connection too deeply with too many people, its just too much for your own psychological integrity.

That's amazing anotherdreamer, whether wishful thinking or not it's amazing the things our minds can do at times, such as the placebo effect. That's a very important aspect you bring shadowofwind, whether dreaming or awake we certainly need to protect ourselves from emotional floods, especially in a healthcare profession, thanks for bringing it up. I guess that at least meditating/praying/sending positive thoughts could be an alternative perhaps like anotherdreamer has done, instead of entering people's dreams and having to deal with intense emotions that may or may not be avoidable or controlled.

I believe it is possible. Through shared dreaming you may could help them deal with psychological issues. Though it could also be possible to heal people remotely, telepathically through things such as psionics or reiki. In these cases, you could perhaps use shared dreaming to make the connection, though it would not be required.

Thanks for the links, I discovered healing touch some time ago and always envisioned myself using it on patients in one way or another once more experienced. With this shared dreaming idea i would use such techniques inside the dream to try heal the other person. I like to use visualisation to imagine the healing energy flowing through my hands, don't know if that helps the overall effect or not but helps me feel the energy sensation.

this method is called "Shamanism" and has been successful since mankind walks on earth.

you´d better study some shamanic literature before you start healing ;)

Shamanism is a pretty broad umbrella term. I know some self-claimed shamans, and their beliefs/practices differ greatly from others I have looked in to. Shamanism seems to mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, just depending on who you ask.
