It's probably none of my business.

But, why do YOU do OOBE or AP or want to? I guess my reasoning in doing and wanting to is to further myself spiritually and shed my fears. I used to be fearful of the mysterious body paralysis dreams I used to get as a child. Now I want to further understand this to broaden my limited knowledge things related to this subject. I do want to know what comes after death. And I also want to contact a few people who have passed to bring comfort to myself and my wife. There are many more reasons, but I am just curious of what some of yours are. Maybe there are reasons I don't even understand yet as to why I should be involved in this. The fear based reasons I tend not to try to give much attention to because I believe that is the kind of attention you will get if you fear them. Anyways, I hope you guys can give me some enlightening feedback. Peace...

My research in AP started when I noticed the large overlap with lucid dreaming. I had been doing meditations for a while just out of general health, so performing my first OOBE went smoothly and it completely changed my perspective on just about everything. People, consciousness, morality, life after death, meaning of life, and whatever else you can imagine just .. well you get the idea it sparked with me a lot. So why do I do it? Because it's really cool. I feel now like anything can happen to my physical life and body and I'm not worried about it. It's not like I AP every night either. I've only done it a few times but it's interesting to read into and I think personally I see it as just another place I can go to while meditating normally.

At first I was just meditating. Later I llearned about AT and found out that the meditation I was doing for years was the same that someone recommended to achieve AP. I realized I had already experienced some profound thing that could be AT. So I naturally turned my attention to trying on purpose to astrally visit people and places. I still find that just going with the flow during AT is more enlightening and rewarding than actually attempting to complete an agenda. I hope you know what I mean by that. Anyway I guess now its for enlightenment and to broaden my experience.

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
