Thread: Strange/Deja Vu-like Visions

I have been trying to master lucid dreaming recently because I just discovered it, but I've been keeping a dream journal for awhile, and every once in awhile (every few months or so) I have very different dreams. The best way I can describe these dreams are as a sequence of still, very clear images, linked by momentary (around 1-5 seconds) of very fuzzy, movie-like parts. When I have these dreams I also tend to feel very strange, almost like I'm incredibly emotional, but not at all at the same time- as if I'm watching someone else/distant (confusing I know, but I can't describe it any other way). What is most peculiar about these dream visions is that after I seem to have forgotten about them, I will actually see them in real life, exactly as they were in the dream. When I notice this nothing really happens, it's more just a deja vu-like process where I think "Hey, I've seen that before in my dreams". What I find most strange about my experiences is that they seem to be quite insignificant things/events- I'll see the things on a desk, or a restaurant, things that I would obviously have not seen before but very plain, insignificant objects, regardless. This doesn't seem to happen around particularly emotional times either (I thought maybe that was it at first), but I found that on the contrary, when these happen I feel very distant from the people around me and events occuring. I really don't understand what this is and haven't found anything like it anywhere else so I thought I'd share and ask if anyone else had heard of/experienced the same.
