Hello everyone

Just thought I'd share an experience I had the other day and this seems the right place for it. I've never really given meditation much thought or effort but after reading through "Dreams of Awakening: Lucid Dreaming and Mindfulness of Dream and Sleep" by Charlie Morley I started to read into the topic more. The book features a basic guide to meditation and how you can tailor it to help you with your lucid dreaming, so I gave it a go.

I sat on my bed with my back upright, but not so rigid that it would be uncomfortable. I then closed my eyes and sat cross legged and simply focused on my being, starting with my breathing and then slowly moving to the environment around me, the sounds and sensations. Thoughts popped into my head but I casually observed and moved past them, continuing to focus on my environment. After about 10 minutes of this I began to feel an odd sensation, it felt as if my physical body was staying in place and a new me was breaking out from underneath it and shifting position to the right of where I was sitting, as if I were a butterfly emerging from my cocoon. I sat next to my physical body, still aware of the sensations it was feeling but also aware of my new position, from another point of view it must have looked like someone had put a mirror down next to me, creating two of me.

Any ideas of what this was? Sorry if this is a bit confusing, it's a very hard thing to describe
Any replies are appreciated
