Transferring Consciousness (AP)

hey all!

When I attempt astral projection through the 'rope' technique while meditating, I feel my astral body separate from my physical body, but always from the perspective of my physical body. When I picture my astral body grabbing the rope and climbing hand over hand, I can actually feel the spirit being pulled out of my body, and my face undergoes a tugging sensation as the head leaves the body (my head is always last to separate).

However, my consciousness stays in my physical body as my astral body moves further and further away (I can't ever 'see' it, only feel it). My physical body gets suddenly cold and the feeling of suffocation sets in instantly (which I have gotten used to now so it's not a problem), so I know some kind of separation has taken place, but I can never 'consciously' separate from the physical, my consciousness always remains inside the vessel of the body.

How do I make sense of this / overcome it?

Hey silentmind!
So this problem with stuck head is very common for people who start of with astral projection. That shouldnt bother you. Now you said that you vizualise that your spirit is going out of your body, but actually you have to how do I say it you have to DO IT like for real.
But before that for the head problem. You have to try and relax each muscle group of the body seperatly before bed that might help. Every other relaxation technique helps too. Since you get stuck on the head ten to do more relaxation techniques on the head neck area.
Once you are out or feel you are out just open your eyes and start exploring the things around you. Dont rush anything it all has to be natural. So look at your laptop or some books in your room touch tem fell them. When you get used with the real time zone you are ready to go.
