      Sleep Paralysis

I was attempting to WILD one day, this was when I just began attempting lucid dreaming. So I was laying on my back for about 40 minutes without moving a muscle and ignoring every itch/desire to move like many WILD tutorials instructed which i read at the time. It didn't work, yet again so I decided to just go to sleep. I rolled over to my left side and got out of that relaxed state I was in before, and all the sudden I start hearing this loud buzzing/vibrating sound. Like this was so loud I couldn't hear anything else and I felt like trying to yell/get up and run away but I couldn't flex any muscles (paralysis). I didn't feel heavy or anything on top of me, just a tense grip around the entire surface of my body along with a fast vibration running through it all, reminded me of those document scanners. It felt like I wanted to run so badly and get away, but was desperately helpless. One thing that was really prevalent was a sense of fear, like adrenaline almost, and anxiety. It was probably the scariest thing I've ever felt, and there were no visuals because my eyes were open, but when I closed them I saw these sets of eyes, I tried to replicate in Photoshop how they looked, but They were like fiery/golden and bright outlines of "angry" looking eyes just staring at me, which I could only see after closing my eyes.

The sound/hum sounded sort of like this. I don't remember clearly enough to explain in any other way:

I am still looking for information on what this could actually have been, I've ready many theories stating that it's just your fears, but it seems to me like it was my fears that allowed this to happen, but more than just that. If anyone had any similar experiences let me know what you remember.

^^ I have nothing you want to hear about the sound you heard (other than just ignore the noise during WILD, regardless -- perhaps especially because -- of its volume), but I can say that those eyes gave me pause.

I have seen the same thing, many times, and usually under the same circumstances; I think it is simply a sort of reverse visual residue, where your vision is trying to capture something, but the best it can do is sort of create a negative image of your eye's impression of the backs of your eyelids. Or it's (very likely) something else altogether, but you can probably rest assured that it is something physiological and not something mystical or intentionally angry -- and it might have had nothing to do with your WILD attempt.

I start to feel like Sleep Paralysis is like a huge Adrenaline rush or Anxiety. It's not actually fear it's just very similar to fear. And with it comes scary episodes. I think we can learn to control our Anxiety. It will still feel like fear but it won't be scary if you know what I mean.

I've had similar experience. 2-3 sleep paralysis episodes in one night resulted in lucid dreams at one point. I always get Sleep Paralysis and Lucid Dreams in the same nights.

Usually I'd just see Phosphenes or daydreaming, but sometimes (like this one) everything was pitch black with these very contrasting bright outlines of eyes. This Chris White guy on youtube thinks he has an explanation for this but idk if it's the truth.

^^ That's quite an entertaining youtube, but it really has nothing to do with, well, anything; I wouldn't take Mr. White very seriously if I were you.

despite the fact that I don't take it seriously, it does seem coincidentally similar to actual reported encounters.

Think of it as music of the mind.
